Heavy Metal Music delivers the goods!
This album is a breath of fresh air. There is no pretense to this album other than Heavy. It delivers this in a very big way. There are songs from essentially every genre of Metal. Thrash, Progressive, Speed and Power Metal form a very well rounded first effort. While every so often one hears things that are reminiscent of his former band Metallica, it is entirely and completely Newsted. You can tell time was taken in the songwriting process, in that every song is as tight as possible, and the sound of the album is focused consistent and clean. While the bass is very much the forefront of the Newsted sound, it is not overbearing or at the sacrifice of any other parts. This is what makes this album so great. You can hear clearly the driving force of the music. If no other Metal album comes out this year, or if there is a glut of them this will be the album of the year for me. Regular rotation in my household. There is nothing more to say than this album delivers exactly what it says it is. Heavy Metal Music. I would also add the word Integrity. Jason kicks much ass on this album. Looking forward to more!

The title says all you need to know! Newsted delivers!
Track after track this CD delivers the goods. Not a bad song on the disc. Which is what I expected from Jason Newsted. Glad to have seen this album give him some well deserved public credit. God knows Metallica never gave him his due.

Solid metal release from a legend...
Newsted full length debut follows up his E.P. nicely. His style is certainly welcomed in this time of good metal music being released. His vocals are spot on and there are hints of his Flotsam and Jetsam roots bringing out some speeding riffs and yelling vocals. Overall a great effort from a legendary musician whose history in metal have been timelessly branded through his time with Metallica. Not a true 5 star effort but a strong 4.5 stars in my opinion. This album will take a few listens to even start to understand to depth of this slab of metal. Should you buy it? If you have a taste for thrash, progressive or even classic metal, this recording should be up your alley. Recommended!

Una obra de arte!
Jason Newsted demuestra en este disco de lo que es capaz de hacer y su amor al arte lastima que Metallica no supo valorarlo, este CD es una obra de arte a mi gusto lastima que ya no produjo más música.

Jason Newsted never disappoints!
Excited to have found the full CD for this Newsted project. If you can appreciate raw heavy metal with melodic undertones and Jason's tone of voice, this is the CD to have. The only disappointment I can say is that the CD case came to me cracked. However, that could have happened during shipping.

Jason Delivered
If you heard the EP then you knew what to expect but in my opinion it is way better than I expected.I really love it if you ever heard Jason perform Seek and Destroy live with Metallica you know he can deliver a menacing vocal and to me Metallica just is not the same without him Robert is a great player but he is not Jason. Here Jason shines I really don't have any complaints although I would have loved to hear the guitar solo's more prominent but that's just my opinion the real heavy tracks are the ones I love most but there are no bad songs here.Would I recommend this album definetly you won't be disappointed.

GOOD IN YOUR FACE HEAVY METAL!! THANKYOU NEWSTED
I just got done listening to this great album for the 4th time and it gets better after every listen. I have been a Jason Newsted fan since his beginning in Metallica in 1986 and I'm very happy that he is back to what he does best, play thundering heavy metal music. I can't wait to see them live. If you love heavy metal, then get this album right away. this album has everything you want in a metal album. I will say it again, thank you Newsted you have been away for too long, we are all glad you are back to crush our skulls with your metal.

Heavy is the core
Its quite fitting that the previous release was called 'Metal' and this release is called 'Heavy Metal Music'.I say this because 2 tracks from the previous E.P are present on this album, Soliderhead & King Of The Underdogs and they have gone through a remixing process to give them the backing dirt effect that puts the Heavy in Metal, thus taking them from Metal to Heavy Metal Music, Louder and more dirty and above all else Heavy.Considering Jason was a former Metallica star (and in my eyes still is) this album sounds completely different to anything Metallica has ever released, The Black Album comes closest to the Album but is still very far away. The only thing that sounds similar to the Metallica sound is of course Jasons voice, its quite pleasing to hear that Jasons vocals have not suffered since 1999s S&M, its only become slightly more brutal which is perfect being backed by the sound of the rest of the album.Jasons seen as one of the Godfathers of Metal and he's produced an album along side Jesus Mendez JR., Mike Mushok and Jessie Farnsworth which clearly proves this fact. I personally find that this albums key is the shear amount of memorable riffs, both bass and guitar wise, Ampossible, Long Time Dead and Kindevillusion hold some of the most impressive riffs i've heard in a long time, it just goes to show that Metal is still going strong in the world of music and not everything has been done yet.Overall this album should belong on every Metalheads shelf whether they be a fan of Metallica or despise them. Jason Newsted has hit the world hard and am hoping that his next release comes out just as good as Heavy Metal Music, because he's not just set the bar high for Metallica but he's set it high for himself too, if he can better this album then he is truly the King.
