Original StudPoP Moving Magnet Stud Finder, for Any Construction, 1" Magnet

This small gadget is a fantastic addition to my toolbox. Cheap and effective with no batteries needed. It detected the studs through thick 80 year old plaster and the wall was too thick for it to stay in place, but it worked very well for drywall.

This is so fun and super cute. I don't think I'll ever go back to the other stud finders that don't work as well. It finds the nail and really sticks. No batteries. It's perfect.

10/10. This works great and is so much easier than dealing with battery-operated stud finders. It’s simple, accurate, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Pro tip: keep a roll of painter’s tape nearby and put a small piece over each stud as you find it. It makes it much easier to visualize where everything is, especially if you’re hanging shelves, pictures, or working on a larger project. A simple tool that works surprisingly well and is definitely worth having around the house.

This is hands-down the simplest and most reliable stud finder I’ve ever used. No batteries, no calibration, no false readings—just works. The strong magnet snaps right to the stud screw, and the visual and audible click make it incredibly satisfying and foolproof.

Ok. We just rented a house with all plaster walls and I couldn't find a stud anywhere with my magnet or my stud finder. I came across this on Amazon, read the reviews, and thought I'd give it a try. This product is no joke, I literally found the first nail in the first stud within the 7 seconds it says it would find one, when my other tools and methods failed for over an hour. Such a simple product yet incredibly helpful. Last night I put at least 12 2" screws in the wall, and 2 nails, and I never missed a stud, not one! I would recommend this product to anyone for any type of wall, drywall, plaster, tile, etc... Best product I've bought in a while that does what it says it'll do!

Neat little gadget. I love clean and simple gadgets that work and this fits the bill. Found the stud with no problem.

It’s probably works for sheet rock, but I have old plaster in my house and I have not found it to be too Accurate. I am sad that I can’t use this. I don’t think it’s the product issue. I think it’s an old plaster issue.

Best thing since sliced bread! This is such a simple, but reliable way to find a stud in your wall and it's kind of fun in the process. No batteries, no waiting to see if the electronics can find the stud, just pure simple, old-school technology that still applies. Love this thing!

Was looking for a replacement as my "stud buddy " had gone missing .. saw this and thought I would try it..and wow it is really good..I had to locate studs in a wall I had built (the ceiling marks had been painted over) and the walls were tiled with 10mm porcelain tiles (plus the adhesive) the studpop found the screws without a problem which TBf is something that the atud buddy would not do as I had tried that before..very impressed and also love the positivity of the magnetic popping up to let you know you have found metal..would definitely recommend to trade and diyers alike..very good product

I have an old house (1895) with drywall over lathe and plaster in many areas. I did buy an electronic stud finder but ended up reading that they may not work well with lathe and plaster (so I figured it would be even worse with drywall on top). So I started looking for other options and saw this one recommended on several websites. It works perfectly. And it’s super strong that it can actually stay stuck to the wall. I appreciate that you can feel the magnet pulling towards a nail while also seeing the middle portion straighten out as you get closer to a nail/screw. I have used electronic ones in the past without much success so I really do much prefer this one. The only catch is that it’s smaller than I expected - smaller than a golf ball. So I am worried about losing it. But it’s affordable and works so well, so it makes up for it. Definitely recommend!
