I love these EZ Lok drivers. The tool drives the threaded insert to a proper depth and disengages automatically. This is much better than using a screwdriver (you have to be careful to get the depth right) - especially when using a power driver. Makes the work quick and accurate.But it is important to use the propper size driver for the insert you are using - that why I bought three of these in different sizes.

Laster for just 3 inserts - The two tabs on the side that lock into the grove strip and no longer grips the threaded insert. Got the job done for my project but simply not worth the money. I used it to put an insert into Pine and this was the result - I wouldn't even try using this on hard wood.

I have used this tool on a variety of projects, and I have been very impressed with the results. The inserts are installed perfectly every time, make sure you drill deep enough. This tool was well thought out. Besides having the ears for driving the inserts in, they thought to have a small ball at the end that holds the insert in place on the tool so that you aren't having to fight to get the insert started, plus it won't slip off the tool as you reach to get it into tight locations. Once the insert is in place, the tool slips right out.

I have used EZ Lok threaded inserts for many years and have always put off buying the drive tool. Major mistake. This drive tool makes it simple, fast, and accurate to install the threaded inserts. Always use the correct drill size and use an 82 degree counterbore to slightly cut the surface around the top of the hole. This way the insert will not pull up the wood fibers when installing.

I bought this to screw in around 30 ez-lok wood inserts into hard wood. The tool worked okay for the first 10 or so, but as I continued on the tool started slipping against the insert more often, producing little brass chips. I was driving the wood inserts into a hardwood that needs to support a lot of weight so I didn't want to try enlarging the pilot hole further. By the end, I could only use the tool for removing the inserts. I used a stainless steel screw and some bolts to drive the wood inserts in.Do I recommend the tool? Yes, if you're using it with softwood or only have a couple wood inserts to install. If you're installing dozens of wood inserts into hardwood, I think you'll be disappointed by how long the tool lasts.

Makes installation of the threaded inserts much easier.
