Leather Sewing Pony Set, Stitching Pony with 4 Color Waxed Thread, Large Eye Sewing Needles and Other Tools for Leather Sewing and Stitching

All the items look of good quality in my eyes and include basic useful items. The Lacing Pony and the burnishing tools were the main draw for me, they look strong and feel good to the touch. With thread, needles and two nice size pieces of A5 leather, you can start a project right away. I purchased this on Black Friday deal so it was extra inviting and now I can see if leathercraft is for me or not. It is recommended from various web sites that I have visited that the lacing pony jaws need to have leather stips glued over the tops of them to stop any damage to your work. Other than that 5 Stars.UPDATEIn the Product description regarding the Lacing Pony Assembly Method that is found on the Amazon web page, the translation makes no sense whatsoever !!!. I think common sense should prevail over trying to make any sense of it.To assemble just take the jaws of the lacing pony and locate the hole in the base just under the clamping catch and choose which hole in the base plate that you are going to use, either the center one or the one on the edge and marry the two halves together inserting the bolt from the underside of the base plate (into the recess provided) and upwards into the jaws section and place the wing nut just under the clamp, screwing them together. I placed a washer on the bolt next to the wing nut to stop damage to the wood.

The only gizmo I really needed to get my leatherworking up and running. I'm happy with the quality of it, but I need to try and tighten it a little for the thinner leathers I sometimes use.I am impressed with the needles and threads that come with it and I'm looking forward to putting all of them through their paces. Even moreso now I have (what feels like) a good quality stitching jig... or whatever it's called again.

What was expected, you can adjust the position of the clutches to suit you better. I would like a bit more control over the space of the two clutches but for beginners it's ok.The threads are not that great, the brown one is a strange cheap looking color.The 2 pieces of leather were redundant considering their quality.Very disappointed with the delivery. There was a one week delay and no way to track where the delivery was. I had to call every courier service in the area to find it.

Great to get started, saw just the stitching pony on it's own for more money than this kit.
