Simple is best!
After looking through countless websites and grilling catalogs looking of a basket to use for grilling smaller items, I finally found this item and immediately ordered it. It has everything that's necessary for function, and none of the "features" that, while appealing on the surface, end up being useless in practice. In my case, I generally grill for my wife and I and our young child. This basket is the perfect size for that. It can comfortably fit a whole sweet onion cut into rings and split apart, over half a head of broccoli, or a few peppers sliced up. In other words, a good quantity of vegetables for two and a half people. Weber does make a larger version if you're grilling for more. For my uses, this basket is far better than anything else I've ever tried. Compared to the following:Mesh Baskets - Mesh is nice, but very hard to clean. Even stainless steel mesh baskets get food caught in the mesh and require a decent amount of scrubbing to get all the food particles off.Non-Stick Grill Pan - these seem like a great idea on principal, but I don't own any grill implements that are safe for use on non-stick surfaces. My tongs aren't rubber coated (nor do I want them to be). This means I have to bring kitchen implements out to the grill. In my case, these have shorter handles and resulted in lots of singed knuckles, not to mention doubling the number of utensils needing cleaning.Pans with Attached Handles - attached handles make it easy to flip food using your wrist, much like one does with a nice saute pan. Except on a grill, these handles are metal (for obvious reasons) and are therefore, well over 400 degrees. Not to mention they usually are too short to be overly useful and still get in the way and take up valuable grill space. Not good.Detachable Handles - in an effort to fix the above issues, manufacturers attempted to make pans with removable handles. Great idea, but I've yet to see one executed properly. Generally they remove by lifting up on the end of the handle -- the same motion that you'd use to flip food in a pan. They are usually finicky to engage and after dropping the basket and the food on the ground once, you drop the handle and grill pan in the trash can. Expensive habit. All of these experiences make me simply love the simple Weber pan. No handle to get in the way, but a couple little curved pieces which make it easy to lift. Stainless steel so no worries about metal utensils. Easy to clean (you can throw it in the dishwasher). Overall, simple really is better. To those who have given this bad reviews due to the fact that it never truly gets shiny clean again, who cares? It's a grill pan. Is your grill meticulously cleaned after every use? Personally, I just preheat the grill and then brush off the charred particles. I actually do the same with this pan and just leave it in the grill... And frankly, the discoloration is seasoning the pan making this guy pretty much non-stick.

Sixteen years later, new product number, same Weber product
This is the second of these Weber stainless steel grilling baskets I have purchased. The only difference between this one and the one I purchased in 2007, is that this new one just says "Weber" instead of "Weber Style." I have used the first one for 16 years, and I just cleaned it thoroughly with Bar Keepers' FriendĀ® on a Scotch bright heavy-duty sponge to a like-new appearance and finish. This basket replaces a non-stainless steel basket that was a pain to clean up, and I could no longer stop it from rusting between uses. Having two identical and easy-to-clean baskets will be nice. The slotted openings on these baskets allow for nice caramelization of veggies while making for much easier clean-up than baskets perforated with round holes. The slots also result in clean-up sponges that last longer. These Weber stainless steel baskets clean up fairly easily, especially if you do not cook too many meals before you give them a deep cleaning with something like Bar Keepers' Friend.I have cooked with some very hot fires and these baskets do not warp. The 16-year-old twin fits flatly inside the new one from corner to corner on all four sides. There is another brand with an identical design at a few dollars less, but when you know you can get a minimum of 16 years of high-temp BBQing out of something, you do not try to save $4.

Well built, tough to clean at times.
Seems very solid, but a mixed bag when it comes to cleaning it. I did not want to rate it lower, as it's well built, but cleaning can be a real pain. Sometimes it cleans with a little elbow grease and other times it's a nightmare! :( Don't put it on as you are heating up the grill, especially pre-oiled. It makes a real mess out of it. Put it on when you are ready to cook. It may help with the cleaning.

Good product - useful, does the job
Love this thing. I use it in my grill. You can find a lot of different ways / food to cook with this. Spring is right around the corner, time to get those grills back out.

Here's my 2 cents
I used mine last night for the first time. I loved it. It makes grilling any veggie so much easier on my grill. I also use a cast iron griddle to do veggies on the grill. This offers so much more ease, use less oil to be healthier, and cleanup was simple. I am very happy with it. I have the large size and it holds a lot of veggies. I used my silicon tongs to stir/mix the veggies as they cooked. 18 minutes and a lot of seasoning later, my girlfriend was enjoying lots of good grilled veggies. She told me the veggies were equivalent to ordering from a classy restaurant. I'll take her word for it ;) Well worth the money. I am not sure if a cheaper knock off would have done the same job. I buy weber because I believe you get what you pay for.

Grilling Basket
Perfect for grilling veggies. Works great, used for the first time yesterday and made sliced zucchini, summer squash and onions. Onions were crispy and yummy, it was definitely a win! Will use it often. Dishwasher safe a plus. Stainless steel. Well made. Just wish it came with recipes!
