A Bit Amazed at Amazon.
The handlebar switch is perfect to restore my old Sunbeam motorcycles. See my website [...]I have found a new supplier in the UK as the Amazon American company sent a piece of petrol pipe instead of the switch !!!! Please explain that one ! Then they told me they had nil stock and would be unlikely to stock it again. So I contacted the manufacturer who informed me that the switch was available in the UK.Then to top it all the Amazon American company sent the correct switch two days ago. I now have two switches.Regards John Moseley

Low amperage
The packaging claims this is a 6-amp switch, but it smoked and melted after about 20 minutes on a 55-watt headlamp load (at 14 volts that's 4 amps). Problem is that the wires are tiny, so there's too much resistance at the terminals, at both ends. I got smoke from inside the switch and from the crimped terminal at the end of the low-beam wire. If you run a big headlamp on this switch you'll also need to wire in a couple of relays to handle the current.

First off I would like to say I cannot comment on how it functions ...
First off I would like to say I cannot comment on how it functions as this is on a custom virago build and not wired up yet.I just received this item today and I got the corresponding right hand controls yesterday. While this one is better its still not great. It is also made completely of plastic and for the price that is kind of lame. But this one doesn't have the OEM nipple on it that is supposed to fit into the handle bar so that is good since this isn't an OEM part.Another good thing about this is that the cable ends are already fitted with bullet connectors as opposed to a plastic connector. Which the other one had and I am not sure why since again, this is a NON OEM part so why would you have the connector on it without including the corresponding male end?But as almost all the others have stated it does not fit properly, Tightened all the way down is still loose and can be easily moved. It is sad that this is how it is but since there are almost no other options of after market controls I sucked it up and added a shim. Same thing I had to do to the other side.

Did the manufacturer ever try to install this?
As others have noted, this does not fit on 7/8" bars. It is too loose and slides around freely. I had to glue rubber pads to the inside of the bar clamp in order for it to not rotate quite as much. Even then it moves on me a bit, and I'm likely going to drill a hole in the back of it and in my handlebars so that I can screw it in place. I shouldn't have to do that.I'm only using as a last resort. It is a very slim unit, and I didn't have much clearance on my bars.

Excellent Switch!
Used this to discreetly wire up a horn, signals and high beams. I understand that most people say it is too loose for 7/8" bars. I can't speak for that but I can tell you that it doesn't work on 1" either UNLESS you are comfortable with a small drum sander on a dremel (rotary tool). It works and looks great being slim profile and all functions work as expected. For those having issues with loose on 7/8" try wrapping the area a few times with electrical tape or adhesive foam tape. I bet that will help tighten things up.

K&S Switch doesn't fit
I purchased this switch to use on my cafe build. The bars are 7/8", which is what this is made for. When I install the switch, it doesn't tighten down enough onto bars and it basically just slides right off. I contacted K&S and they basically were useless. I suppose I could make a shim or something to use, but that's not the point. Not sure why its not fitting on my 7/8" bars so I am returning it.

Wiring diagram included
Includes wiring diagram. Would have been nice to get female connections. Other than that works great. Same as others little big in bars.
