Great Rembrant book

Great book! I purchased this in Kindle format, which allows me to blow up the etchings and drawings. It's not hard to see why Rembrandt is a Master.

I purchased it for the examples. To small to be of value to an artist. Poor quality reproductions.

Rembrandt is my idol, known him since I was seven, even touched one of his painting. Shhhhh! But I had hoped to see more of his work and was disappointed that there were no color plates. Of course his drawings are great - can't argue that and I may even copy some of them..

it's good

Very nice book. great representations of the etchings..nice and clear. Paper used is vulnerable though. Don't leave in a humid air or get water on it...it will be ruined instantly.

Great value, and decent reproduction of his sketches. I tried to copy one...I know now just how marvellous an artist he was - a page of lines that individually look like hurried casual scribbles, yet together make an incredibly accurate and credible study of a nude model!

The word " Rembrandt" conjures up paintings like a The Night Watch and portraits. This book shows what a truly great draughtsman he was, using a variety of media, with pen and ink to the fore. It is an inspiration.

Good illustrations with authoritative commentary. Would recommend.
