Celestron 1.25" 45° Erect Image Diagonal – Accessory for Telescopes

This is the second 45° diagonal I've ordered and I ordered this Celestron because it had special coatings on it, the other one I bought (neewer) does the same thing they both have lens flare problems at night. But these are designed to be used for terrestrial viewing during the day so you don't have that problem, i also tried it on the moon and it worked fine in my C8. But it has no brass sleeve just the the locking screw which will scratch the eyepiece barrel if you're not careful.

This fit my Celestron telescope perfectly, now I could use it for birdwatching or any other terrestrial viewing. Works great, fits great. I’m very very pleased highly recommend.

I wanted to look at terrestrial objects and got tired of inverted and reversed images. The fit an finish are consistent and the optic itself is suitable for looking at distant objects on the ground. The 45 degree angle is a lot more comfortable than the 90 degree for ground objects. I'm currently using it to observe Space X operations in Texas up to a mile away. I can see individual rivets and tiles on the Starship. This has expanded the utility of my Celestron NexStar 127SLT. Well worth the money.

Picked this up to replace the dodgy cheap plastic one that came with my scope, where the eyepiece retention screw had stripped out. The build quality is great. My only issue is with this eyepiece I can no longer focus in enough. I’m getting a Barlow to attempt and fix this issue, hopefully that works. Just be cautious that changing diagonals can cause focusing issues.

I got this to use with a Astronomy Technology 66mm aperture refractor for terrestrial viewing. The first I sent back as the hole for the tightening screw was too big so it could not be secured in place on my scope. The replacement is fine. There are better optics out there but this item is fine for the price.

I love this product! It does exactly what it says. My wife purchased a good sized telescope (Nexstar 8SE) for my birthday and we’ve been learning the ins and outs of using it. I have purchased several lenses and this is by far one of the most useful. The Good: Rights the image – This is handy for determining exactly what is on TV in the neighbor’s apartment across the street, block, city (depending on your particular hardware) Also for Planets/Celestial bodies. Makes it much easier to manually move the telescope by hand or with the electronics if you have them. If you see it move up and left, you move the telescope up and left, not inverted and backwards. The Bad: None. I love reviews like this. Verdict: If you are tired of trying to invert things in your mind and staring at upside down stuff, buy this, you won’t regret it.

I'm quite satisfied with this 45° Erect Image Prism for Refractors. The whole item is made of metal. The thumbscrew is quite large and easy for tightening or loosening. The end to go into the focuser has internal threading 13/16" that's more than 3/4" of threads all the way, more than enough to attach filters etc. The silver end which goes into the focuser as shown in advertised picture can be unscrewed from the 45° diagonal. The image is seen UPRIGHT, LEFT is LEFT and RIGHT is RIGHT as if you're looking through a binoculars. It came with caps on both ends to protect from dust. NOTE: One thing I noticed, on the advertising of this item, it did not say it was a 45° diagonal prism even in the description. It's only when it arrived at my home I saw the box labeled "45° ERECTING PRISM" NOTE: For those who think this is a 90° diagonal prism it's not so, it's a 45° diagonal prism so be aware. NOTE: This is a Prism diagonal and not a Mirror diagonal. From what I've read, the Prism is better than the Mirror. Only the Die Electric Mirror diagonals are the best but expensive.

si nota una qualità maggiore rispetto ad altri prismi a buon mercato provato su un rifrattore da 80 mm verso mare immagine nitida e raddrizzata di notte molto comodo se l'oggetto celeste tipo Venere o Giove è in una posizione scomoda con prisma a 90°

I was not sure if this would work on a reflector style (Newtonian) Telescope, such as my Celestron AstroMaster 114EQ. Reading a few reviews made it sound like this eyepiece may not work exactly as described. I was worried the image would still be slightly askew, or that my focus adjustment would be out of range. I was thinking at the very least I would need to purchase an additional focal length extender (eyepiece extension tube). As some reviewers had indicated that the focus adjustment would be so far out of range that the telescope would not be able to accommodate. My work-around was going to be using my 2x Barlow lens to extend the focal distance enough to hopefully bring it into focus for me. However it worked exactly as described right out of the box!! No need to even use the Barlow lens, although it works wonderfully with that also! The image was flipped right-side up, and I believe it is correctly oriented left to right as well (tracking of the telescope now follows proper left to right directions when I move it, but I will need to focus on more objects to know for sure... I've only tested it once on a symmetrical object). Very VERY worth it if you want your astrological telescope to serve dual purpose of both star gazing and for some terrestrial scoping. Super easy to use and, so far, a very clear and properly oriented image.
