Excellent little shaver
I purchased this for a close friend who ended up in the hospital. It sliced through a weeks worth of facial hair with ease and without razor burn. Cleans easily. Has a comfortable grip.I am surprised by the quality of the shaves it gives. My only gripe is that it doesn't come with a small case or bag for the shaver and cleaning brush. I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for the convenience. It is well worth the price.

Worth it!
Well it works. Keep it in your car, travel with it, I use it at work. I don't consider it a 100% replacement for blade shaving but it works great and gives a pretty close shave. So small, compact, and the fact its 2 AA batteries (doesn't come with, but I bought some decent ones so it performs). The hair accumulates under the shaving head so you empty it that way-comes with a brush to clean it. Just make sure you do. If it lasts 6-12 months I got my money's worth and will buy it again. I just use a blade now to touch up my sideburns and when I'm home.

Nice, compact shaver.
Works well, but doesn't seem as solid as the Philips battery powered shaver I purchased in the '90s. Longevity remains to be seen, my old one still works, and I only bought this one as a backup because the switch is getting dodgy and sometimes doesn't work. To be fair though, I've had the old one for almost 30 years, so it's served me well for the price I paid.

Compact and Effective Travel Shaver
I travel in my campervan, and wanted a shaver that operated from AA's. The only other one that takes AA's, to my knowledge, is the Braun MobileShave M-60. The physical design of the M-60 is superior, in my opinion, but it has the drawback that it doesn't trim long bristles. When using the M-60, I had to use a safety razor to cut errant long hairs. This shaver, with it's two rotating heads, does cut long bristles, as well as the short ones. Downsides are that the little cleaning brush cannot be stored in the body of the Phillips PQ206, as it can with the Braun M-60. Also, the Braun has an integral guard for the cutting foil, while the PQ206 guard can fall off and get lost. However, the ability of the PQ206 to cut long bristles, is the feature that tips the scales in favor of it. I use it at home as well as when traveling. If you're particular about getting a close shave, like I am, you'll find that you take more time shaving with this, than you do with a safety razor, or a regular electric shaver that is powered by AC house voltage. It doesn't matter to me though. I can have a leisurely shave while drinking my morning coffee and browsing the internet. It doesn't matter that it tales a little longer.I really like this little shaver. If it ever breaks down, I'm getting another one.

Good travel or emergency / low cost shaver
Been using Brauns for a long time and I wish I started with Philips. The circular heads and the motor is so much more quiet and does a better job shaving for me personally. I had nimh rechargable ones for the longest time and batteries just end up weaker and weaker. Decided to try a AA battery one and so far so good. YMMV, I don't have much facial hair so others who have lot more may needed something different. With this I don't mind dropping and breaking or losing on a trip.

Used daily, have to replace after 5 months
I keep ordering these Philips PQ206 Electric shavers as they are battery operated, and what my Dad is used to and he doesn't want to change to a different model. While I understand these are designed for travel, when used 5x a week the blades are dull in 4-5 months. They say self-sharpening but guess there is a limit to that feature. We clean/brush it regularly. The batteries last fairly long, it has good power, and it is a compact shaver that fits nicely in the hand.Just wish the units lasted longer as having to buy several a year adds up. As an occasional travel shaver it is a good value - for daily use a not-great deal.

Not as described in listing. One star because it will be no advantage for travel.
I purchased this to take on trips in the States and abroad - for a smaller razor for travel. The description clearly states the following items are included: Cleaning Brush, Battery, Protective Cap, Charger (I copied and pasted the description from the listing to post here). No batteries were included AND there is no "charger." I had assumed that there would be a way to charge the batteries in the device since a "charger" was included. Total false description. Now I would have to purchase 2 AA rechargeable batteries and take my separate battery charger on trips to charge the batteries OR take a lot of extra batteries. This totally defeats the purpose of trying to get a small razor - that does not meet the description listed. Debating on sending this back. I will look at other items to see if they meet my needs - that is if Amazon accurately lists what I am going to get.
