Prophetic Essentials: A Solid Foundation for Your Prophetic Call (The Prophet's Field Guide)

This book breaks down what a prophet is and is not. I love how this book shows you the heart of Jesus and the foundation of every prophet should be. This book was one of my favorite books to read.I love the clarity and the simplicity that it brings about the office of the prophet.

As someone who is still in training, this has been the most concise book written. The author shares her story, how she was called, and perfect illustrations on the prophetic office. Nothing is more refreshing than a prophet who admits their flubs in ministry and then brings gold from it for others to glean from. This book has stirred hope afresh in my calling and showed principles and pitfalls. I look forward to continuing on my journey and learning from the series. Highly recommended.

The Prophetic Field Guide Series (books 1-7) has equipped me with the understanding and tools to walk out my call with wisdom and skill. Prophetic Essentials (book 1 in the series) lays the foundation and brings clarity to the untrained prophet. This book brought me so much peace to have the training I need to begin walking out my call and fulfill my purpose, not according to Christian culture, but in a way that brings us into a face-to-face relationship with Jesus. It is like standing on a mountaintop and reviewing the lay of the land – you gain a better idea of what is ahead in your training process. This book lays that level of understanding and expectation. Don’t just buy this book, GET THE WHOLE SERIES!!!

I love how this book breaks down the function of a TRUE PROPHET... and if you are a prophet at heart you won't find the author's style insulting or offensive.. rather it will CHALLENGE YOU and cause you to be stirred up in your spirit to truly RISE UP AND TAKE YOUR PLACE!! This book is not for the faint of heart, as a matter of fact being called as a Prophet isn't for the faint of heart, PERIOD! If you want to grow and be challenged and truly know what it means to be a prophet.. this book right here delivers on just that!If you're crazy like me Apostle Colette Toach's book will inspire you, challenge you and call you out for MORE!! TO BECOME MORE!!!

This book helped me understand the many experiences I've had over my life. It really gets to the heart and soul of the prophetic call. If you feel God's leading you in this ministry office this book will bless you.

Author calls the reader a "loser" on page 82. That was enough for me. I am sick and tired of Christians trying to get rich through charing other Christians lots of money. This author seems to charge too much for her books and even though I have the money, I am not sure my money would be well spent. As an author I charge 99 cents for my kindle books, not because they are only worth that, but because God is my supplier and I freely give to others. I think this author might see the wisdom in this approach.

This book was a right proper blessing to me. Having been slowly trained in the prophetic over the past 20+ years there was little new in here for me BUT what it did for me was put what I've learned into a proper framework and context which I found most useful. I found it life affirming and ministry confirming as I've been around churches that are well suspicious of the prophetic. This isn't the first book on the prophetic by Collette that I've read and I may well continue with this series now. It comes highly recommended from me.

Collette has immense knowledge of what a prophet in preparation and training experiences because she's lived it. To avoid cutting corners I recommend this book to all prophets called by God. Prophetic Essentials is a must-read if you are struggling to understand who you are and what God is calling you to do for him.
