Best Nerf Blaster
I bought this to replace my Nerf Maverick. It is much better. In single shot mode it never jams. In slam fire mode it jammed once. Once I cleared the jam the dart wasn't even damaged that bad. I still use the dart without a problem. I never use slam fire mode. In terms of accuracy, for a Nerf blaster it's really good. The barrel is rifled, but I don't think that really does much. The blue paint looks really good. The handle is a very natural method of charging the blaster. It can be used as an assault grip too. The drum holds 26 darts but is rated for 25. The grip has an emergency dart holder that holds one dart. I don't use it. In terms of backwards compatibility, the micro dart, tagger micro dart, and whistler dart all don't load properly due to their protruding tip. The blaster may damage the tip of the darts over time. However, they still work. They have terrible range with this blaster though. I would only use the elite darts. I can't say how streamline darts do though. The drum has a jam handle in case darts get stuck in it. It can be used if you don't load the darts properly. To load darts, simply press down the dart in the drum and slide another one in. Overall, this blaster is beautifully engineered, durable, and packed with features. It is probably great for Nerf wars. This gun is an essential in any Nerf enthusiast's arsenal. Update: A friend gave me an older 6 dart magazine. It came from a Nerf Longstrike CS-6. It works with this blaster without a problem. It holds up to 7 darts even though it's rated for 6. It's good if you don't want that big, heavy drum protruding from the blaster. It only protrudes about an inch from the blaster. It looks really good.

Great value
My room mate and I got each other one for Christmas (to avoid lopsided firepower) and it is great! The cocking handle is very durable with a satisfyingly crisp action. It has a reasonable amount of power to it; I can easily shoot it across my entire apartment. The accuracy is pretty good (really depends on the straightness of the darts), but this blaster will put a ton of darts down range, especially in the slam fire mode (trigger held), sometimes it will jam if you don't properly cycle but the most that has done so far is dented some darts making them trash. Be prepared to spend some time finding darts and reloading this, I find it against my logic to slam in a quarter loaded mag and spend a lot of time dart hunting. The mag release is also satisfyingly smooth, as long as you follow the directions and have the handle back when loading and unloading. The mag was also interchangeable with the 12 shot mag from the Nerf N-Strike Elite Alpha Trooper CS-12 Blaster that we bought at Target. Overall I have had a lot of fun with this blaster and I think it is a great buy when compared to the other blasters I looked at in the $20 and under price range. I would highly recommend it if you don't mind finding blue darts everywhere.

We love this one!
it does jam if you overload the mag, if you try to fan it and do not fully charge it forward and/or back. After you figure that out... do yourself a favor (if you have an FDM/PLA printer) and print out one of the stocks on thingiverse... most excellent. The stability with that really allows you to kick down doors and take names. There is a shorty stock we printed for youngins, and it's great now little ones can fan like it's 2099!

If you dont pump it COMPLETELY, you will Jam it. Otherwise its great!
You really gotta RACK the dart in well to get it to fire. My kids under 10 were jamming them every time. But I got it to fire ever time. When if Jams, the dart gets tore up and will probably need to go in the trash. After watching the kids play with it I saw they werent pulling it all the way back and pushing all the way forward with "force". If you get this, Really show the person getting it the importance of a nice hard pull back and push forward to chamber the dart completely. Its fun when you really rack and fire though.

Buy this blaster. now.
This blaster is great. It just is. The Raider, the earlier version of this, and reliability issues as did its 35rd magazine. This blaster only ever jams if you have a deformed dart in it. It is very accurate as well. I've gotten so many repeat kills at distances of as much as 30ft it isn't even funny. The 75 foot range claimed on the box is what the blaster can achieve if you arc the shot. More often it would be like 70 or so. Shooting flat, you'll get about 55 ft most of the time. Thing is, that's such a marked improvement over the old blasters that I still give it high marks especially since it's fairly accurate at those ranges. The reason for the power is that the internals are now a direct plunger system. Direct plunger means it's like a conventional syringe. After the famous longshot came out, everyone started modifying its direct plunger system so the blaster could get more than 100ft ranges. Until this year, almost ever blaster they came out with since had a reverse plunger system where the plunger was like a cap. Its the structural inverse of a syringe. The Elite blasters are a return to the syringe direct plunger, which is great, but many people have tried to modify them with limited improved results. The Rampage's internals are very simple and have fewer parts than the Raider did, which is great. It's less of a hassle if you want to take one apart. The nice thing about the direct plunger system is you can increase the spring tension without risking internal destruction, as demonstrated by Griffinmods on youtube. An SG Nerf commenter on facebook reported that you will want to reinforce the internal mounts for the operating parts, on the inside of the shell however if you do that. I for one like the blaster so much that i won't alter it in any way other than maybe painting it. The mount for the magazine, which is on the left side, is the only durability problem. As with the raider, it's a separate piece that snaps on. It is possible to slightly loosen it if you bump it while a long magazine is in there, e.g. the drum it comes with or one of the excellent 18rd clips they now sell. If it gets bumped hard enough, you will have a jam until you re-seat it in its proper position. The only other thing that isn't so great is that it doesn't come with a stock. Of course, being an internally upgraded raider, it can take a stock like most other nstrike blasters, but it doesn't come with one. The elite darts are a great improvement. They are lighter and better balanced than the old streamlines and don't fishtail as much. They also shoot great out of older blasters. The foam is slightly stiffer than the old pinkish foam and the heads are slightly stiffer as well. On the SG Nerf blog, which I highly recommend, they cut one in half and compared it to an old streamline and found that part of the reason the balance is better is that the stem of the head, which goes down the hollow center of every kind of foam dart, is shorter on the Elite darts. Its always good to know why something is good, not just that it is good. There isn't much that can be said for its "educational" quality other than that it gives a kid a sense of what its like to shoot something with a magazine for the first time. If you crack it open to tinker with the internals then I would give it high marks for educational quality though and that goes for any nerf blaster. One last thing i would say is that you really need to get eye protection if you're going to play with elite blasters. They won't give you a black eye but they do hurt. The extra power means the hits sting a bit more when you get hit anywhere but they will never break windows or injure your pets. Just get some goggles, not sunglasses. Shop goggles will work fine though for my purposes, I'm getting some that are overkill but can be used for airsoft as well as in the shop: the Revision Desert Locust Fan Goggles which exceed military requirements for ballistic protection and, as the name indicates, have a fan it so they don't fog up. Despite some minor setbacks I again must say that you should get this blaster. It is truly excellent.

Fun gift
I got this nerf gun for a 10th birthday party gift. The boy loved it! The price was lower than other similar toys at target or a Walmart. Also, this was an Amazon exclusive toy, so he did not have this specific nerf gun yet.

The Worst Nerf Gun Money Can Buy!!!
I sincerely wish I could give this blaster ZERO stars. Where do I even start with this piece of garbage. This Nerf Rampage was the worst Nerf blaster I have ever purchased in my entire life. I purchased this Nerf Rampage, because I was looking for a Nerf blaster for my child that would allow him to have fun with his family using a high capacity magazine. I saw a few reviews on YouTube that praised this blaster for its performance, so I decided to give it a chance, considering the fact that it had a high capacity magazine and slam fire- slam fire being when you hold down the trigger and prime the blaster at the same time, which allows you to control the rate of fire. When I received the blaster I was initially disappointed with the paint job. It was sloppy and some of the white lines on top were smudged, but I figured my son wouldn’t care so I let it go. But for $51 you would hope they could at least paint it right. Once I actually began showing my son how to use the blaster that’s when I realized how much of a piece of trash this thing was. Immediately upon firing it jammed. We realized that unless you prime the handle far backwards and forwards as possible, the blaster will not fire. But this was sometimes difficult to do since the priming was not as smooth as we’d hoped. When pushing the handle forward the blaster tended to ever so slightly dangled the priming handle rearward which would further aid in jamming. Not to mention how pathetic the slam fire was. When I tried to show my son how to use slam fire the blaster seized up and jammed for the third time. This time when trying to clear the jam manually I realized that it was tearing up the elite darts. This was by far the biggest disappointment. I couldn’t even fire all 25 darts without jamming at least once. This product is poorly designed and extremely overpriced. Please I’m begging you, if you value your money AVOID this product at all costs. I’ve never sent a product back to Amazon so fast before today. Thankfully I was able to purchase a Nerf Rival Atlas for my son which works beautifully. It may not have slam fire but it does not jam, has a high capacity magazine and shoots rival rounds. I would definitely recommend that over this any day.
