Terrific!
I purchased a new TCL Q6 TV. I connected the TV to my 20 year old Onkyo TX-NR702 with an optical cable. Things were great in Zone 1 but no audio in Zone 2. This is understandable since Zone 2 is strictly analog. So searching for a remedy I came across the Prozore 5.1 DAC Converter. Reviews were good so I purchased one. It is simple to install. I used the USB port on the TV as a power source. I then connected the optical cable from the TV to the Prozore and then connected the RCA jacks to Zone 1 on the rear panel of the receiver. Turned everything on, selected Video 1 on Zone 2 and it worked! I couldn’t be more pleased. If you have a similar issue you can’t go wrong with the Prozor converter.

Good Quality IF it works
I ordered one of these and the output was extremely small - barely audible with the output volume at maximum. So I returned it and bought another one. The second one works great with my same setup. The output volume can be controlled and works well at around 75% or maximum level. So, they can build a quality device, but their quality assurance testing before shipment is wholly inadequate, so you might receive one that simply does not work.

Just what I needed!
We bought a new Sony 55" TV that has no RCA audio outputs to go to our vintage Pioneer SX-780 stereo receiver from the late 70's. So, I needed to go from the TV digital audio output to analog RCA audio inputs on the stereo. After reading the reviews and product descriptions of a number of these devices I decided to go with this one. (While I didn't know if I needed it or not, the volume control helped to sway me to this one.)I received the device, and it looks just like the picture on Amazon, and included the optical cable and a USB power cable. I connected a small AC to USB power adapter I had from one of my old cell phones to the switched AC outlet on the back of my stereo and plugged the USB power cable into that, connected the optical cable from the TV to the input and a set of RCA cables I had from the output to my stereo, and it works great. The volume control on the device works, but with the volume control on the stereo I'm not sure I really need it at this point, so I set it in the middle.Sound quality seems just great to me, so I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

PROZOR DAC Converter 192Khz Digital to Analog Audio Decoder - Great!
Item works great. No pops, cracks on my end because this among other this decodes Dolby surround etc. and I suspect people's reviews having problems with similar items got one without this decoding. Easy hookup, quick connect, very good clear sound from tv to stereo.

Constantly has to be power-cycled
When it works, it works well. However, as others have stated I have to unplug and re-plug the power to get it to wake up. I've tried both RAW and PCM audio from my TV with no difference. I've had the audio cut off while using it, so it's not a case of it going into a deep sleep while everything else is turned off. The TV I'm using only has the coax audio out so I don't know if it would actually behave using the optical audio option.

Supports Dolby and PCM
I bought a new TV and wanted a digital to analog converter so I can continue using my analog Bose system. I had an old converter but that only supported PCM and not Dolby, which could be the option for lots of new TVs. Plug and play without issues. Excellent value. Excellent audio quality.

Does what I needed
Perfect. This is the second digital optical audio to RCA converter I bought for my older LG LS4500 TV. The other one worked fine for everything except over the air TV. This one works for all the devices on my TV, HDMI Fire Stick, Games console, DVD player and over the air broadcast TV. This TV does not have a menu option to set the format of the signal sent via audio out, so it must be sending a different signal depending on the source of the broadcast. This converter handles whatever my TV is sending. I'm very happy. We had a little trouble at first, it did not seem to be working, but we just kept clicking the volume up button and finally the sound came through. We had to click it about 20 times.I wish it had a power plug adapter. It only has the USB power cable. I knew it didn't come with one when I ordered so no surprise there. I searched for a unit that had a power plug but most of them don't come with one. The other unit I ordered did have one, but didn't handle all my sound signals. So in the end this was the best all around option for me.
