It uses your body weight and gravity to do the lifting vs. my back. There is a technique to using it and you need to find out where it is most comfortable for you to grab but if done correctly saves on using my back to lift.It is well made and comfortable for the person being lifted as the belt is wide and slightly padded.

Anyone who has an elderly/weak person they care for would be pleased to have this assistant belt with lifting. I was recently able to help get a neighbor up from the ground after falling.Believe me- it is difficult to lift dead weight without injuring yourself but, with this belt you use your correct body posture, and the assistance of the belt leverage while lifting.It is well constructed, and the handles folds up inside the back support.Winner, Winner!

This is a great concept, the wider belt is wonderful vs. the traditional skinny gait belts that usually ride up under the arms and if you have any rotator cuff issues can cause real pain and further damage to your room loved one. The only issue with this belt is no matter how tight you make it it is still to slippery and tends to slide up if tension is in any way adjusted once you start applying tension so the person in the belt does not feel secure. I wish. It were made with a nonslip material on the inside. I don't know how to fix this but will need to rig something up to continue using it. But other than that it is a very well constructed product.

Had an opportunity to use this belt when my mom slid off her recliner and was sitting on the floor. She cannot get up by herself, we put the belt on her, I had her put her feet on top.of mine...then I pulled her up with my sister behind her. It really worked! By the way we had a paramedic tell us to have the person put their feet on top of yours when you go to lift. That way their feet don't just slide.

We use it to help my father to stand up as part of rehabilitation training and it's sturdy and very comfortable. It's also much easier to use and more comfortable compared to the conventional techniques.

Rides up in a wad under my wife’s arms. The layer next to clothing needs a non slip surface. Waste of money-returning it.

Product used to help lift father in law out of wheelchair. It worked as advertised. The handles were alittle long.

This transfer is perfect to help a patient up out of bed in the morning without undo stress on their arms or shoulders. I just place it underneath the patient at night. They sleep comfortably on top of it. In the morning or when they need to get up, I just have to grab handles on both side with one hand and maneuver the legs to turn, and get feet on the floor so he can stand. Works great! Glad I got it!
