It is a good book for someone who has a desire to become a serious student of the instrument, in that it more than succeeds. I would get a real beginners book use it and then immediately move to this one when you finished it. Have it on hand to move up. There is a lot of information before the music so before you switch from the really basic book you can read the first part and do the exercises.

I have 5 children in my home schooling setting. These recorders make a wonderful break from the routine of the classroom. The kids also learn an appreciation for music.

A good introduction to reading basic notation. Not too much and not too little, it teaches just enough to use the exercises. Also good that the written note is printed above each finger chart. This is one of the few books that, while staying very simple, introduces and explains tempo/movement terms like 'largo' or 'vivace' and then uses them with the tunes at the back of the book. That is PRICELESS!Unfortunately, the fingering charts for Fnat are incorrect on pages 25 and 38. Follow the text's instructions, but know that the charts do not reflect what is written.

Gave it as a gift. No review. It looked like it would be easy to follow but I don't know.

I have not had this book long. But I am finding it very helpful. I have not read music in years, it has been very helpful to jump start me again. I would recommend it.

I use this recorder mainly as a hobby. I like the sound quality. Very good for the price.

This is a great book for learning how to play the recorder.
