Quick and easy can’t ask for more

Four months and no data, no response nothing. Don’t waste your money. I’d give negative stars if I could.

Super easy to do. I took my SUV to walmart and asked them to fill the little bottle and put it in the included plastic bag. Recieved results in about 2 weeks with recommendations. I will definitely be using this service again to properly maintain and address any issues before they become a bigger problem. 100% Recommend

At first I thought they forgot and as soon as I thought that, I found an email from them with the oil test results. I had no idea there were so many things in engine oil that wold indicate a problem. With a 45' diesel pusher RV, the last thing you want is a surprise from your engine. I believe this test clearly can alert you to potential issues. Don't be impatient, which I may have been.

Don’t waste your money or time. I had some critical oil I needed analyzed. 6 months and no results. No email, no call, and can't get it online. Original oil is long gone and so is my sample. Huge disappointment. Stick with Blackstone as these guys are a scam.

I thought it might explain a little more about the oil. Like how much expected life is left...

Purchased this product for a diesel engine with 35K miles as there is basically no other way to determine the condition of the engine. The product comes with everything necessary to take and submit the oil sample, including a pre-paid mailer. If I could make a suggestion, I would hope for a slightly larger information card that you need to fill out, but what they provided did work. The sample was packaged and mailed on a Friday. It travelled from the west coast to Colorado. The report was received by email exactly one week later on the following Friday. I believe that is a reasonable response time for a mail-in service product. Checking their website, the report is visible there as well. I don’t have any engine metallurgy knowledge sufficient to know if there is something else I should be looking for in an oil test. For a service with a total cost of less than $30, I am satisfied that this testing gives me enough information to have confidence in the vehicle’s engine which is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm sure the data provided in the chart is accurate, but I think they could do a better job with there interpretation/ comments. They ask for tons of info on the sample you provide; you would assume so that they could research and compare normal to your sample, but I don't think they even do that. I had an issue with a final drive on an excavator, turns out it had bad seals in the motor and was pressuring up the gear case. It would have saved me thousands of dollars and many many hours if they would have just let me know that my sample was hydraulic fluid, when it should have been gear oil... At the time when I purchased these kits were around $25 a piece, they are now comparable to the big name labs. The poor results along with the long turn around time will be the reason I couldn't recommend this product.
