My grandson loved this book. Later he asked his dad to read it to him again.

Very short story. Good for two-year old.
Short story to keep a two year olds attention, yet enough things in the illustrations to discuss. For example, “can you find the bee?”

Great book!
I love Berenstain Bear books and so do the great-grandkids! They have a good story, and fairly easy to read if you have a beginner reader, plus they teach something. I don't think you can go wrong with them. This one I purchased for a birthday gift to go a long with a fishing game.

Pretty decent story of the kids fishing with dad
My 5year old son and I like reading this little Berenstain Bears book. The book just tells a simple story of the kids fishing with papa bear at a lake. The kids have a lot more success with their tiny poles catching little fish instead of papa bear with the big fancy pole. The text is simple sentences so my little guy can easy follow and see what is going on. Papa bear gets skunked a couple of times catching a boot, followed by a tire and then gets a huge salmon bite on his pole and ends up falling into the water. Which in turn scares the giant fish onto shore. The whole family strides home carrying all the prized fish back to mama bear. Now anyone who has gone fishing will probably tell you fish just don't jump into the boat or jump on shore, kind of gives a false impression. It might have been better if Papa bear set his pole down and the big fish took off with the pole into the water where Papa bear has to chase after his pole in the water which is much more believable. Overall I liked the book and I think my son did too. For $4 it was worth the price. We also bought Mercer Mayer's Just Fishing With Grandma and I kind of liked that story a little better covers more elements of a fishing trip in general. Bottom line can't go wrong with either story.
