Never squeals, stops great
This works perfectly. It was easy to install, and I love itTips: Adjust them to provide a slight toe. If you don't know what this is, look up on youtube. Afterward also be sure to use the little spring adjuster screws if one side touches the wheel.

Awesome Shimano V-Brakes
These brakes are really nice, while they are a bit pricey if you buy them as a set but worth every penny. See any v-brakes would work on my Huffy bike which I will end up giving to a friend since I now upgraded to a used specialized bike I bought from someone locally. So back to the brakes, the quality of these Shimano Alivio BR-T4000 are pretty sweet considering they only come in silver or black. My previous brakes (which were this exact model) the spring broke one of them after bending too hard. Ive learned if the screw that tightens the spring cannot be tightened anymore then you can bend the springs this is if your not getting action on one side or the other, or if your v-brakes are rubbing on the rim of your wheels. So consequently, the spring on the pinchbolt brake broke on the old BR-T4000. So since they don’t sell these brakes individually I bought a new set, even though the other one was just fine, it’s like when you have a pair of shoes and one shoe has a hole and the other doesn’t well then you have to throw the old ones way, replace them and go buy a new pair. Kinda sticks I had to do that but, oh well if the other spring breaks then I’ll have a spare on hand. What’ve decided to do is keep a spare handy if I need them, it’s not a bad idea. I highly recommend Shimano they make great bike parts, and some awesome stuff.

Learned new skill - these are perfect
Quality brakes - easy to install (after watching a couple YouTube videos just to make sure I am adjusting them and spacing them correctly. I am NOT a bike mechanic - but, I'm not afraid of trying to do things myself, and I figure, if I'm shifting from marathons to Sprint-->Olympic triathlon style events, I'm going to be on a bike a whole lot more (previously only when suffering a running injury)... hence, I better know how to fix things myself - if you're out on a ride and something breaks, you're the only one you can count on, just be prepared and knowledgeable. My other brakes weren't "bad" - but they were stock... I figure I can upgrade my brakes, brake lines, saddle, safety features, etc - all on my own - learn a skill and be self-sufficient - and have a little fun along the way. These brakes are easy - complete (have all the parts you need). They are of course sleek, classy/very sharp looking, operate flawlessly, and actually pretty easy to install. If you haven't before, and are thinking about it... just do it... these are inexpensive and very nice... the only thing is I wish I had ordered a rear set as well (when you buy the lines, it comes with lines for both front & back)... that way I KNOW they're both NEW and installed correctly... if not, then I can only blame myself!

Good Product for the price
Haven't used them yet, waiting on brake cables but there isn't any reason for them not to work except possibly will upgrade the pads. Mounting was straightforward. Only issue I have and would like to pass on is that they market them as front and rear. Had to buy the rear from another seller for 2 or 3 bucks more. They are exactly the same. They both come with short and long mounting bolts, they both come with the exact same degree bend and length of the cable noodle. If you can't find a front and rear pair then just get either two fronts and two rears, whichever has the cheapest price.

Great value & better than my stock
Put these on the front of a beach cruiser that had some cheap generics. Shimano is a brand I can always trust. Well worth the money, great value. I turned the bike into a 36v electric. This combined with the coaster brake is enough stopping power. I saw a huge difference in performance. Original cheap generic brake was rubbing on the wheel, hard to fit tight to the rim. My rim is not perfectly straight since I threaded the motor on the front wheel and I am not a "professional" and did with a hand tool. But it is relatively straight enough and all good with no brake pad rubbing the rim now (thanks to this upgrade).

Fixed my wife's brakes
Purchased 2 Schwinn Regioneers last year and the front brakes on my wife's bike never worked correctly. I had a local bike shop tune up her bike but the front brakes still would not stop dragging. I just replaced the front brake with Suimano BR-T4000 and now they work just fine.

Great Brakes!
I have a Schwinn Meridian adult tricycle and have had problems with the brakes from day one. Had a bike repair man fix them but they still did not work properly. Adjusting them was a nightmare! I put these on and am able to brake properly. Easy to mount, just make sure the pads are right side up and you use the supplied noodle.
