FirsTime & Co. Arabesque Mosaic Wall Clock, White, 10.25 x 2 x 10.25, (00242)

This item is exactly as pictured! Some reviews say that the mosaic tiles are mostly gray, not blue as pictured. I rolled the dice and ordered it, and I'm so glad I did. The little tiles are mostly various shades of blue, with some pearly gray tiles scattered throughout. There are even some tiles with threads of light golden brown, but the overall effect is blue. The clock is very lightweight and easy to hang on a wall. The reason I took off a star is that the hands are light silver and can be difficult to see at times, especially at a distance and in certain lighting. Also, the outside edge of the clock is plastic coated in silver. Hopefully, the silver isn't the type that will crack or peel over time. Thankfully, what could be considered cheap-looking is not. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The clock is beautiful, inexpensive, and it's exactly what I was looking for.

Go figure! When I took it out of the box I figured it was a return. On the wall in my bathroom, however, with the marble countertops, it looks great.

I bought this exact same wall clock in 2010 from Bed, Bath & Beyond, & have loved it, despite problems with the cheaply made battery holder!The battery compartment is NOT covered. And I began having problems with the battery holder some years ago; I added aluminum foil to keep the battery tight. Then had to tape it on the back, so the battery wouldn't fall out when I hung the clock up. Finally, the essential piece on the battery holder fell out, so of course the clock stopped running.I was amazed to find this same older clock on Amazon! I received the new one & have it up & running! Although the name is the same ('Pearl Mosaic'), it's slightly different. My old one was a pearly white. Which matches my bedroom better. This new one has a lot of tan in it--still pearly but pearly tan & darker. So that part is disappointing.I do have 2 smaller clocks from this same company (FirsTime), also bought in 2010 from Bed, Bath. They also have open battery compartments, & I've had no trouble with either of those. So it's possible I got a somewhat defective lst Pearl Mosaic clock (i.e. the battery holder).I can't find either of those smaller, older clocks on Amazon, alas (in case I have problems with them). They're made of glass or a heavier plastic, as they're much heavier than this larger wall clock. The problem with the plastic on this Pearl Mosaic one is that I've noticed that parts of the mosaic pieces have become damaged. Though you don't notice this from afar.All 3 of these clocks have kept accurate time thru the years. I also like the numbers on this clock (& the other 2 smaller ones) being a lighter color--black numbers, say, would destroy the artistry of the clock. I don't have any difficulty reading any of these clock from afar. I also consider this one to be a large clock. Though it depends on where you're hanging it and what you have around it.I did order this 'Pearl Mosaic' from Amazon Warehouse, & suggest you do the same--the brand new one is way too expensive! And I'd suggest to the company (FirsTime) that you make a better battery compartment--cover it and/or use quality materials (it's what keeps the clock running!).

I bought my first mosaic clock at a thrift store. It quickly became my favorite clock. I needed a clock with blue in it. When I found this one … I ordered it quickly! Folks the clock is barely over 10 inches. Perfect size for me but I see a lot of reviewers saying it’s small? I do not hear the clock ticking. I absolutely love the color variations. I do not have any problems seeing the numbers or reading the time.

This is my second purchase of this clock. keeps good time and only needs one AAA battery.

The clock itself is absolutely gorgeous however for older eyes it just doesn't meet the standards. The face is much smaller than I would have thought, the numbers are not clear from a distance & the hands on the clock were silver & almost impossible to see from any distance. It is a shame because the clock is beautifully made & I so wanted to keep it. The face should have black numbers on a white background & the hands should also be black. It would be a huge improvement.
