Excellent Watercolor Cards
I paint cards for our family and friends for many occasions. These Strathmore watercolor cards are perfect; this is at least my second purchase of this item. They are outstanding quality and allow me to create cards using watercolor paints, my preferred medium, but they’ll work with many other mediums as well. These are acid free, cold press 140 lb. paper, approximately 5” X 7” with envelopes that match. I’ve been successful using just about every watercolor technique you can think of, with no problems. The paper usually remains flat, but if they buckle a bit because I’ve used lots of water, I’m always able to flatten them. The envelopes have glue on the flaps, making the cards easy to close securely to mail. The cost is very reasonable, and the people I love get personally painted cards rather than commercial store bought. I know I’ll buy these cards again.

An excellent brand of watercolor cards
Strathmore is a good brand of watercolor paper. These blank, pre cut greeting cards are a good size, weight and texture. This makes it so much easier to paint your own greeting cards.

A use that may not come to mind
Of course these cards are great for make-your-own cards with your own artwork. But I also find them wonderful for another use. The appropriate thing, according to etiquette books, when offering condolences. is a letter, not a Hallmark card. These serve admirably, in that they are just about the right size for handwritten condolences, the paper takes a variety of dark inks well from different pens, whether conventional or calligraphic, and the card has an elegant feel. It is also heavy enough to conceal easily an enclosure of "in lieu of flowers" currency, so the mailpiece is more likely to arrive intact. I generally like to put the card and enclosure within the supplied envelope and use a booklet envelope as a carrier envelope; this will just about come to one ounce, but the stamp itself may add just enough to raise the postage requirement - just depends, so weigh it if you do what I do. No carrier envelope, well within one ounce. BTW, currency has non-zero weight.Sorry to go on so about the practicalities of a less-pleasant exercise, but we all encounter these events, and anything that helps convey heartfelt sentiments gracefully at the right time (especially when at a long distance) is welcome. Hope this is helpful to some.

Great for Painting Gifts for Family and Friendsd
The media could not be loaded. I love painting watercolor cards for family and friends. It's a great way to share something personal with them in a non-pressuring way. That is, if I painted an actual wall painting for a friend and gave it to that friend, now the friend would feel pressure to hang it somewhere in their home. If instead I send them a card, they can put it on their desk if they want, tuck it in a drawer if they want, or frame it if they want. It is a much gentler way to send artwork. These Strathmore cold-press watercolor cards are full notecards, meaning they have an inside section. Sometimes when you buy watercolor "cards" they are just rectangles of paper without any fold or inside. More like "postcards" than "notecards".I find the quality level of these to be quite fine. They hold the paint well and will stand up to being framed and lasting a while. Perfect for my projects.Well recommended.

Nice watercolor notecards, good value for the price
I bought these for making watercolor holiday cards and for doing some practice vignettes. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Makes beautiful handpainted cards
I use these for my watercolor projects...making cards for friends and relatives. The paper takes the watercolor paint very well and works with either wet on wet or wet on dry techniques. I found they fold just one way, so make sure you fold them correctly before embarking on a painting. If you fold the other way, the edges will not line up. I tape them down when painting which helps keep them flat after the paint has dried. Very pleased with them. (And...if I am not pleased with the way the painting came out, I just cut the card in half where the fold is and use the blank side to create another painting which i can then frame or paste onto a larger paper to send as a card. )

Love Them
I recently took up watercolor painting and thought it would be fun to make my own greeting cards for birthday's etc. This was my first one in the photo, and it's pretty easy to fill this space with something pretty.I thought that the paper weight was good. I did not put a ton of water on the paper but it did hold up well. The inside and outside are the same so you could paint something inside too. I just used a marker to write my message inside but in the future might paint a little something inside and out, or even on the back. The envelopes are just standard. It would be nice if they were colored, but I can live with white envelopes. I might try some different sizes next time. I just got a set of 10 of these to see how I would like them and I really love them. Thanks for reading my review
