The fuel cell car in this kit uses a unique reversible fuel cell that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electric current from a battery pack. These es are stored in clear tanks located at the back of the vehicle. When the battery pack is removed, and the electric motor is connected to the fuel cell module, the hydrogen and oxygen combine back together again into water, releasing electricity in the process. The motor runs on this electric current, propelling the car forward. Because hydrogen, oxygen, and water are safe and clean s, this type of fuel cell is environmentally friendly and does not produce hazardous emissions. It takes approximately five minutes to split enough water to fill the tanks with hydrogen and oxygen , and the car runs for about 5 to 10 minutes on full tanks.
