Easy to carry, easy to use
Great product and good value for the money. I use it when kiting. Good to be able to read the wind both max, avarage and momentary.

Wind meter
I needed to measure average wind speed and direction for work purposes. The WM 200 worked well for that purpose. Its not too complicated although I don't use it to its full capability.

Wind speed but not direction
The wind speed measurement is great, but the wind direction is poor. The wind vane does not work as advertised especially when the wind is lower than 10 knots. The 100 model would have been a better purchase for my needs.

Not sure about the specifications
I bought this unit specifically because it is advertised as being able to average the reading based on 5/10/13 second intervals. I have been unable to figure out how this is possible other than just the average function. Highly disappointed since I need to use this for work (I am a track coach and need these functions for allowable performances). I'm not one to write negative reviews but when the information is inaccurate, I do not want someone to have the same experience I had.

Avoid this product
Avoid this product at all costs!!!!! The impeller is very easily broken -- at first I thought I had broken it by banging it in the cockpit of my sailboat, but after reading another review which said that the product broke in strong winds I think that it may have broken in winds around 20 knots. Hardly very strong. In any event, the product's quality is open to question. And the company apparently recognizes that the impeller is subject to failure -- hence the available replacement (for nearly half the price of the original product!!!). Instead, why not engineer the product the right way in the first place?

Great product, better service
The product is great. It Is relatively simple to operate and exceeds expectation. There was a slight problem with the item due to shipping (I assume). I was to leave for Hawaii in 36 hours and WeatherHawk had a new unit in my hand before the plane took off. Amazing support and service. No gripes with the product either. Now I'm investigating what my next WeatherHawk will be.

it's OK
Its good ,for the money I have paid; I'm not sure how exactly measure the wind speed , but to get some information about wind speed it is OK

Accuracy is questionable, time to get an "accurate" reading is long
You need to be careful about facing it accurately to the wind. Using it on the water in race management I'm not sure it is accurate. (It is, however, consistent) Perhaps that is because I'm close to the surface of the water and experience wind shear. If you use it you need to understand that it takes 10 seconds to average out its readings, so you need to hold it up for at least 11 seconds.
