You know what? I AM awesome!
I love to dye stuff and am totally fearless, whether it's a pair of leather shoes, a purse, my hair-- whatever! I don't like to brag-- and I won't-- but I am thisclose to be being an awesome dyer! Me working a math problem? Well, not so much. But I digress. When dying leather, you need a good deglazer to remove the finishing coat and this product works GREAT. The price is also good and a quart size ensures many hours of dyeing enjoyment. I'm a firm believer that a person can't have too much deglazer in his or her life and a quart size will put you on the road to that security.

Works well
Works well to get shiny product off your saddles. Also works to strip the leather from any product you werent supposed to put on it. A saddle I bought had blackrock on the roughout, so I used this to strip it off and it worked great.

Do project outside! Fumes are overwhelming.
Works great! However, don't be alarmed if your leather turns a metallic color. The Fiebings Resolulene takes it away. DO YOUR PROJECT OUTDOORS. THE FUMES ARE HORRIBLE!!

Worked like a charm
Stripped the protection off the sofa and you could see where the color was stripped as well. It worked in one pass with a hard hand scrub and dried up pretty fast to dye that same morning.

Excellent Product!!
This item delivered very quickly. It works great, just as described. I had a leather trunk that was avocado green and I was able to deglaze it with Fiebings Deglazer. The Deglazer took the finish off very nicely (not the avocado color). Once I deglazed the leather with Fiebings Deglazer, the leather took the Fiebings Dark Brown leather dye just great! Once the dye was dry, I sealed over the dye with a light coat of neutral shoe polish. After the polish had set up and dried, I gave the trunk a light buffing to bring out the shine. A coat of Fiebings Acrylic Resolene and I was complete. The leather trunk now looks as though it was always brown and looks beautiful!!The results were excellent!!

Fiebing’s Deglazer is a crucial first step to refinishing/dying leather.
Product used to remove finish from leather chairs and sofas, so all pieces could be dyed and refinished. Fiebing’s Deglazer performed flawlessly and Fiebings dye was able to absorb properly. Fiebing’s Resolene was used to finish and all pieces are now like new furniture. As the first component to the whole process of restoring leather, Fiebing’s Deglazer did a great job!

Nice product
Int heory this is one of the steps to renew the die on your "saddle". I bought it for a jacket..after talking to a local leather store I got too many different directions ( dont apply it on clothing )..and havent completed the project yet. The pros tell you to use it for saddles and wallets - but not for clothing and furniture. The explanation has to do with the fact that it may bleed the color or they are hinting that it might be toxic on your skin. I am sure they use the same stuff in China - where all our clothes are coming from. Just couldnt make sense out of it.
