Lonely Planet Vanuatu & New Caledonia (Travel Guide) Paperback – November 1, 2012

One of the less charming and well written of the Lonely Planet series, of which I am a great fan.

Spent a week in Vanuatu The guide had some decent standard information, like any adequate guide, but it was clearly beneath the usual Lonely Planet guide standard. There was not a lot of really in depth information. Did not go to New Caledonia so cannot comment on that section.

Not terribly helpful, but better than anything else I found.

The book was quiet full of useful information The items were scattered so you had to look for information requiredIt covered all islands I will be travelling toThe language was solved by loading an App (myLanguage)

The real test will be when we get to Vanuatu in about 5 weeks. Mean time, it's helped with bookings and given us a fair idea of what to do and where to stay.

Good summary of all the info I needed. Very useful to get a handle on the local area and things to look out for. Very useful.

Eventually found the info I needed, but really hard work. Terrible layout and very poor index. Lumps of information about one place (Port Vila) scattered through a number of different chapters and subheadings e.g. Restaurants in 3 different places.Clearly no thought whatsoever went into translating this from paper to Kindle.

I bought this book because we lived in Vanuatu for some years, it's good but I wish it had been a book on its own as in times past, I don't like it so much with New Caledonis being in it, Vanuatu can fill a whole book on its own.

I received this just in time for a trip to New Caledonia. Invaluable information but I think it could be a book on its own.

Lacking photos. A bit boring!

Davvero deluso da questa guida... ho sempre comprato Lonely Planet trovandomi molto bene almeno con le versioni in lingua italiana (davvero dettagliate e ricche di informazioni) ma questa in lingua inglese (per le Vanuatu Lonely Planet è disponibile solamente è in inglese) è davvero priva di informazioni utili, poche mappe, pochi dettagli sulle escursioni o sui mezzi di trasporto... che delusione !

Very touristic quide. Old days of the 'off the beaten tracks' content have gone .... And prices of accomodations are not up to date at all
