These are a must.
These are fantastic. Great quality and should be standard on high end guitars or DIY builds.

Best Upgrade for my Bass
I bought a used electric bass for my son. Over the course of about a year of him beating on the bass, the 1/4 jack began to pop really bad and I was afraid of blowing my speakers. I went to our local used gear guitar shop and they recommended that if one could solder, I could easily fix my bass by putting in a new pick up. The build fit and finish is amazing. The nickel create a great connection and the bass hasn't popped since I've install the new jack. If you know how to solder, I would totally recommend this upgrade.

Great product
Works really well and makes great contact with the input jack. I used to get pops and crackles from my old jack. This really solved that problem. I would recommend this product.

Its a BIG jack
I bought this input jack to use in a 2008 ESP LTD EC-50 - its a Les Paul single-cut style guitar with the input jack opening flush to the side of the body.No question that it is a durable, quality input jack and I love the subtle transparent black color - this is the primary reason that I bought it. I did consider the quality aspect, but it was mostly the color that drew me to it since the guitar I bought it for is all black. It works pretty well too - it almost has like a double lock feel to it when you plug in the cable. It has a quality "grab" to it and requires some effort to plug in and unplug the cable, which is also what I would expect.I had/have two issues with this jack; Its REALLY big and bulky and just barely fits in the input jack cavity hole. In fact, I am still having an issue with a short of some sort if pressure is applied to one side of the input plug on the cable; like the jack is pressing against the cavity wall shielding. The other issue is that you will need to rough the surface of the soldering points for an optimal soldering experience. This thing is big and busy as you can see by the picture(s). I had to solder the hot and ground for the pickups and the hot and ground for a kill switch. Not only was it super tight space I had to work in between all the prongs of the input jack itself (outside of the body), but it was a nightmare getting the solder to weld to the surface based on an inability to solder to the bare metal connection points on the input jack. I had to scratch the whole thing up with a tiny flathead screw driver with a piece of sandpaper taped over the end of it. It was very frustrating. Overall, I am happy with it but if I'm being honest, its still the color that was the reason I bought it and worked with it as long as I did to make it work. Otherwise, I would have just used a Switchcraft or AllParts input jack. Input Jacks aren't magic...as long as they are not made with cheap, thin metal, the connection prong is not bent out of sorts and the solder work is adequate, pretty much anything will do.I'm not sure if I would buy it again or not (unless I needed one that is black, then I would for sure). It's reasonably priced and it is a quality part, but there are so many other options that I have used that are similarly priced and so much easier to work with.

It’s such a simple idea... yet it makes playing SO much more enjoyable. No cracks, hisses, or pops.
I tried the Pure Tone jack as a bit of a lark wondering just how much ‘better’ an output jack could be, one over another. And I was amazed in all honesty. Everyone who has ever plugged their guitar into an amp has experienced the same thing - cracks & pops when plugging in, cracks & pops when unplugging. And most of us have experienced these noises if we move around very much when playing, or when our cable is at its lifespan’s limits. It’s not a complicated thing really, it’s simply that there is a single point of contact with the 1/4” male plug. And over time & with use, the metal inside the jack that contacts the plug can weaken enough that there isn’t any pressure holding the contact onto the plug. In the Pure Tone jack... there is simply TWO rather than one. Twice the contact area, and the amount of pressure exerted by the contact onto the plug can be lessened, which means the metal making up the contact doesn’t fatigue or weaken as quickly. Those noises we hear indicate a loss of the signal flowing from the guitar to the amp.By having more contact & more contact area between the jack and the plug means that you aren’t hearing the cracks and pops we’ve all come to be annoyed by. It’s a more solid & consistent connection, and therefore a more reliable circuit for the signal path. Its not rocket science or anything, but I am flat out amazed that nobody thought this up over the decades. They are a few bucks more, and these days every buck counts. But not having been annoyed by the scratchy static-like noise every time I plug in makes it well worth it to me. It’s a minor thing really in the overall scheme of things... but Pure Tone built the proverbial ‘better mouse trap’.It’s a really simple install if you can solder at ALL. So do yourself a favor & try one out.
