Awesome fit, high quality.
I own the adult version and bought the kid version for my 6 year old and 7 year old sons. My 6 year old is fairly average, but my 7 year old is a big boy and can wear small adult sized items, especially head gear. These fit both of them perfectly! Most "kids" balaclavas don't fit well or lose their shape, especially in the mouth guard area. These keep their shape, fit perfectly, and are thin enough for safe use under a helmet but thick enough to provide warmth during cold Wisconsin days. Highly recommended!

5 years old
Brought this ski mask for my 5 years old son. The mask fits well. He can wear it again next year. Love how the mask covers the head, ears, nose, and mouth for warmth. Perfect all in one mask for skiing.

Well made and warm
I got this for my 8 year old who is very particular about what he wears. Not only did he actually like wearing it, the balaclava fit his large head very well without being too tight. He used this along with a beanie, and it kept him warm in weather that was between 20 and 30 degrees.

The BEST balaclava style hood available!
I bought these for my girls last winter (then ages 3 & 6) and they are AMAZING. We have tried other balaclava style hoods but these are by far the best. The girls wear them primarily under their ski helmets but have also worn them for playing outside with or without a hat over them. (NOTE - they are thin and don't provide a lot of warmth on a cold day without an added hat).Pros:- There is a 'hinged' portion that can either be worn up above the nose and mouth (on really cold, windy days) OR it can be pulled lower around the chin. The great part about this design is that it stays nicely high or low (doesn't ride up).- Thin material fits nicely under helmets.- Lots of colors.Cons:- None - we LOVE these.Note - I also have the adult sized version of this product and wear it every time I ski. The kids size does fit my head but it's really tight (I wear an adult S/M helmet size).

Protected skin on -6 Vermont ski days
My whole family wore these to a ski trip in Vermont with temperstures in the single digits, but negatives because of the wind chill. They protected our faces well and kept our facial skin from getting wind burn. If it helps- at least half the people on the mountain were wearing this same one and they were sold in the mountain ski shop

Fit well, worked well under helmet
We bought 3 kids and 2 adult sizes of these. We also bought 4 over-the-helmet (OTH) style face mask hats. Comparing the warmth of each, the OTH was actually cooler in some ways because there was room for my helmet to vent. However, these were cooler on the neck and face because they aren't insulated. These fit snug enough that our kids kept the face mask part up. For myself, the mask part kept falling below my nose. The OTH mask was easier to keep up because I could pull it up over my goggles. We planned to use these when in closer contact with teachers and the OTH kind when we had more social distance since they are warmer and more comfortable (soft). The kids' OTH sometimes didn't fit as well, especially if they were playing in the snow without a helmet. The Blackstrap hats did get wet from snow and the heat/vapor from our mouths/noses. They didn't dry quickly and remained wet for a long time. This was also true of the soft OTH type face masks but those had more material to absorb the moisture so it was less noticeable. We found the thicker over-the-helmet hoods were good at wiping up kids' snot ( it just magically "disappeared"). Overall, we will wear them again when it's the right situation. My daughter and I both preferred the OTH soft types. The three boys preferred this type. Both are better than the ones with nose and mouth holes which weren't allowed as face masks at the ski resort we were at. They did pass the candle test, as long as I didn't stretch the material too much. I was a little worried about this when I first tried it, but after wearing them for a day the material was actually looser on my face and not as stretched out.

Must Have
If you live in a cold climate and have a kid who lives to be outside, this is for you. Fits under ski helmets, hoods, and is really good just on it's own. Snow never goes down his back anymore and I don't have to worry about his ears. It's just really awesome.

Perfect for skiing
I bought a couple of these on the mountain due to unexpected weather. I was pleasantly surprised how they protected the kids and they loved the different colors and designs. I thought I was paying the ski resort premium, but when I had to buy another for my other kid, I found that amazon sells them at list price too. Regardless, even though I thought I might have overpaid at the time, it was still worth it for a quality product. These things are really versatile and my kids use them in all kinds of ways, full coverage, face mask only, head cover only, around the neck. Does the job, keeps them warm, quality material and construction, and hard to lose because they can just lower it around the neck if they get too warm. Surprisingly worth the money in my mind.
