Clear high end sound, bass finally sounds like real instruments not just blergh
I put these in the front of my 2015 Jeep Patriot, they took a little work to mount the tweeters because the Jeep didn't have factory tweeters but it was worth the work! They are about as loud as the factory speakers, maybe a tiny bit quieter when turned all the way up but it's a whole lot more clear. The magnet on them is pretty big but I don't think it would be a fit problem on most cars. I needed to use separate 6x9 adapters to fit because my Jeep came with 6x9's originally. I used 3m "VHB" tape to mount the crossover boxes to the inside of my doors, a little above the bottom in case water gets in there.Always loved MTX in the 90s and it's cool they are still making awesome speakers!

Good value.
I love the mellow tone and think they are worth the money. I put them in the back doors of my tiny Suzuki sport utility vehicle. I replaced a pair of $35 fosgate R165X3 speakers an installation shop put in the week before. They simply buzzed and couldn't handle the modest power of my Jensen. So, for 3X the price, these did the trick. The shop did the labor for free, but I'm still out the $80 the shop charged for the (street price $35 Fosgates). They had the price sticker at $99 and kindly knocked it down to $80.So here's a tip for other nubies like me going into a high-end audio installation shop. Note if they don't list the makes and models in the demo room. Listen, and figure out what you want, then get the makes and model numbers (tell them you want to research reviews). Then, purchase the equipment yourself. Then, find a low-end installer and compare the labor quotes. You'll save some money!

Midrange to high improvement
Vehicle: 2014 Ford Taurus LimitedLocation: Center rear deck, dashboardWhen I got these, I didn't know that they would fit in the dashboard speaker location, but they do.The good thing is that these speakers sound really nice. They are easily better than the original speakers. I would definitely recommend a crossover to get the best out of them. Send them the proper frequencies and they really shine. For how small they are, they handle mid-bass and lower frequencies well. I'd say that 1kHz-10kHz range is its strongest. Cymbals, percussion and strings sound really good. Vocals seem much closer and clearer. If you added these to sub and tweeter component speakers, you'd have a great setup.

Speaker sound is good for its price point
Speaker sound is good for its price point. The tweeter sound is clear with no harshness. I have these on a 3/4 inch MDF baffle on each of my 4 doors. I've sprayed some adhesive on some insulation padding I picked up from my local home depot. I then affixed them behind the speaker and inside the door. Caulking around the baffle and speaker also helps in separating sound waves which can distort sound integrity. I've applied sound dampening sheets to seal any openings. Another trick to getting the most out of a speaker is to glue a foam strip on the inside of the door panel opening for the speaker. All this work has improved the acoustical sound coming from this speaker. This can be done for any speaker. I recommend this speaker for its price and performance. The mid-bass effect I'm getting is impressive and a complete upgrade from stock setup. They're powered by a Soundstream ST4.1000D digital amp.

They do great for four months
!! It sound great at first, with sony xav-ax3000 unit in a corolla with no scratches in music with bass turned up sounded great but after 4 months one speaker now has scratchy sound when bass go off, makes it hard for me to listen when the music sound scratchy! The other same speaker still sounds great, so found out the the plastic cover came off of the top of the little speakers, i used zipped ties for now so for now it sounds like i got it when i got it lol!

Great sounding speakers. I love the bass response and the highs are on point. Needed something to keep up with my kicker 12's and they do the job nicely. My s*** sounds nice son.

Four Stars
Surprisingly a good speaker, overpriced though. Meant for low powered amplifier applications. 100 watts rms max per speaker
