Riveting....
Bought this for my 16-year old son, who reads a lot and especially loves science fiction and fantasy. His reading level is high and his favorites include the Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and Lord of the Rings series. His review: "This entire series is excellent, keeps you on the edge of your seat and will appeal to most, even those who do not regularly read. It is more of a modern sci-fi/fantasy and will definitely hook you early on and keep you entranced. I had to be careful to start it at the right time (when I knew I had time to read) because I knew I wouldn't be able to easily put it down. Not as deeply written and developed as the Potter or Rings series, but still one of my favorites. Plenty of action and suspense, and the first person narrative makes you feel well-connected to the storyline. In addition, there are lots of odd bits of humor throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend this series."

This was very satisfying!
As said, it's in "Very good" condition. There's the slightest not noticeable amount of water damage and a slightly weak bottom of the dust jacket, but it's not enough to interfere with the reading process or appearance on my bookshelf. Great quality, very happy :)

Bobby Pendragon Returns With a Vengeance...Literally
Bobby Pendragon is back and he is older, more passionate and Halla is more complex than ever before. Welcome to the latest edition of the Pendragon series. The Pilgrims of Rayne is the best installment thus far, and there will be more to follow! We know that the territories all have a turning point, but we have never seen anything like what happens in the latest installment. Do you miss Loor and Gunny and Spader? How about Alder? The Pilgrims of Rayne does not disappoint. MacHale gives us everything we want this time around. I mean everything. If you ever thought, "Why doesn't Bobby do this, or that?" It is all in here. The territories have been mixed and nothing is what it once was.Make a wish, choose an adventure you would like to see, revisit territories, feel like everything is under control and all Halla breaks loose.Sit back and enjoy the ride as Bobby Pendragon discovers more about who he is, what he is, what he can do, what he should be doing, and for the first time, what he might do without his closest friends who are no longer what they once were either. The Pilgrims of Rayne is the best yet! The new Harry Potter has a lot to live up to.Hobey ho, let's go!

Pilgrims of Rayne
My son flies through this series, and this book is one of his favorites of the series. Pendragon books are good books for early teens through adult, and even prior to early teens, depending on reading level. My son started reading these when he was 11 and he just turned 13. We gave him this book for Christmas. I wish it had come out closer to Christmas. My son reserved it at the library (which I kept 'forgetting' to pick up for him) and every time we went to the mall he'd sneak off to the book store to sit in a corner and read this book. He was more anxious for the release this book than he was for the last Harry Potter book!

Great series!
I'm reading this series because my son read them and enjoyed them so much, and wanted to be able to talk about it with someone. Though this series is written for young teens, anyone who enjoys a good adventure will appreciate it. Cynical adults like myself will often see where the next turn might lead, but that doesn't take away from the truly amazing adventure at hand. MacHale has created a world (or worlds, or Halla, or territory, or...) that has its own rules, making it easy to achieve the required "suspension of disbelief" needed to lose oneself in this saga. One book in the series is not enough - you must read them all. this review will act as my commentary on the entire series. A+!

excellent
Well Wot can i say i grew up with Bobby Pendragon i just couldnt resist not reading the books it was an utterly enjoyable experience imagining other worlds flumes/like a gate to other worlds and above all the evil lunatic that is the opposite bobby pendragonthe masterful yet nuts Saint Dane. and the wonderfully described Nevva Winter. my only hope is they will somehow turn it into a movie same as the Harry Potter books or the LORTR Trilogy or even Perhaps same as ERAGON as i have read the all the three books.eragon, eldest and inheritance and they made a movie out ok it sorta stunk.but still it made the ££££££££££ as required.the Bobby Pendragon Cycle must be read.

So sad to see the series ending but what a wonderful ending it was. Too often books don't end and that's also frustrating. Well done. A fine series for children of all ages. Each book kept me interested and excited throughout. Sad to see you go Bobby Pendragon! Hobey Ho! And so we go...
