Q: Recommended gauge? Yardage?

Consistently thinner than DK(3) weight. Also their video says 512yds but recently the shopgate info says it is 481yds. Ultimately depends on whether you are doing lacework or not. Site gauge: 12 sc x 16 r on J-10 (6mm) crochet 17 st x 28 on #8 (5mm) knit for no gaps i used a 3mm crochet hook

Yes, this is for a single skein.

Q: Is this a 4 ply yarn?

The label doesn’t actually say other than there a loopy emblem with a “4”in the middle of it. Can say that the yarn is increditably soft and pleasing to used. I’ve done two shawls on #8 needles with the Shawl in a Ball. There are 482 yds shown on the label. Hope this will help.

No it is not. It is a thin yarn.
