Legit air panel in great shape
Mine came from military gear, authentic air panel in original plastic bag from what I can tell. Complete with NSN sticker, still soft and pliable, minor edge fraying, great bright colors front/back, standard 550 cord tie downs, dated 3/91. I’d get another from them without hesitation, exactly what I was looking for.

Important Piece of Kit
Product as expected. I keep it in my pack for emergencies and marking my camp site, vehicle, etc.

Yup. A VS-17 Panel
If you are in the fighting portion of the military, you should already have one. I got this to put in my Daughter's pack & showed her how to use it. It is bright & and sturdy. Nothing special.

Heavier than the CIV version
Snaps and ties are good. One source says that ground to air signals should be 10 m by 40 m. oopsI want searchers to find me, given approximate what 3 words. They are on foot and I am not anywhere that air search would work.

Get Noticed!
For most of us, signaling aircraft from the ground can be a moment to cherish, but only if we can get over the vast array of confusing emotions and nervous butterflies in our stomach and just remember that the aircraft wants to talk to us just as badly as we want to talk to it, and it feels just as awkward as we do.These VS-17 panels can be the perfect ice breaker for the next time you get the nerve to chat up that orbiting EC-3 you've had your eye on.
