Good razor. I use the Astra blades and always have a great shave with it. I also have the Henson razor and this one is just as good. I get a close shave and I hardly ever get razor nicks, if I do it’s only from old acne scabs. The razor has very little blade feel and has a good weight to the handle. The look is very nice too! Definitely my new daily shaver! Don’t be afraid to buy this if you’re on the fence or worried you’ll cut yourself like I was. This is a great razor! Happy shaving!

If you're looking for a high quality razor you can use every single day, look no further. Due to work status, I can't skip a day, and use my Mühle R41 any longer. I tried using my Merkur Futur adjustable, but that monster just could not be dialed down to be mild enough for an every day shaver. I broke out my Merkur 34C 'Sledgehammer", and it worked fairly well, but I thought it could be better. Enter the Mühle R89, and the game changed. Pair this baby with anything from a Bic or Wilkinson Sword (German made), down to the more mild end of the sharpness spectrum, and it will perform. As long as you have a decent technique, this is a FUN razor. I say decent technique, as in my opinion a novice can still damage themselves if they lack the foundations of grain mapping, angle, pressure, and soap selection. In the hands of an experienced shaver, go ahead and break out those blades you bought years ago, and hated... give them another shot in this razor, and see what happens. In my case, I have a love/hate relationship with Feather: they are next up on the "give them another go" list! Want a quality three-piece mild, yet effective razor? The Mühle should be on your radar!

This is such an incredibly smooth shaver! I use this to shave my head, and it leaves my scalp very BBS! In my opinion, this is the perfect safety razor. It gives you everything you need, while also allowing you to be 100% comfortable while using it. You have zero fear using the Muhle R89, since it’s mild and you can be very nimble with it. Also, if you want to get more aggressive, you can always buy the Muhle R41 head, for only $25! Just like that, you have BOTH the Mild R89, and the Aggressive R41 in your hands!! or you can try different aggressive, razor blades as well, It’s incredibly important to try different blade combinations with ANY safety razor. Words CANNOT describe how important a razor blade is to ANY safety razor. If you pair the R89 with a very sharp razor blade, such as a Feather or a BIC Chrome Platinum, you’ll have my personal favorite combination. Which is a mild razor, with an aggressive/sharp razor blade, while staying a smooth shaver. I hope this review helps everyone. Happy shaving!

This is my first double-edge safety razor. I've been a cartridge razor user for years and I have always hated shaving so I went for this classic shave instead. I love it so far. I'm two weeks in and getting better every shave. I only cut myself once on the adams apple and it wasn't bad at all. Once I get used to this, I plan on getting something a little more aggressive. This has been great for my very sensitive neck skin.

As I said, I can’t tell you yet because I haven’t used it. It looks fine, but it will be a while till I use it and I will need more blades.

There is a bit of weight to this razor, which is appreciated. the handle is somewhat short, but i think it's just what you're accustomed to. i think the shorter handle gives me better control. Really like this - no nicks and easy to use.

Det här är en riktigt bra säkerhetshyvel för att lära sig att raka sig på det här sättet, och blir sen ett säkert alternativ att falla tillbaka på när man har bråttom. Förutom den här säkerhetshyveln är det bra om man investerar i en rakborste, rakblad, raktvål/kräm (behöver bättre glid än raklöddret på burk), alun-sten och aftershave balm. Kolla gärna på youtube. Det finns billiga alternativ. Kvalitén är väldigt bra, ingen rost eller dylikt även fast jag låter bladet sitta i tills det är slött, då rengör jag hyveln och byter blad. Jag har använt min R89 flitigt i ett och ett halvt år nu. Den går dock inte alls bra att raka huvudet med, om någon undrar. Bladet är för skyddat för att den ska fungera på huvudet, där kan jag rekommendera t.ex. Mühle Companion istället. Högsta betyg på den här hyveln, jag kan verkligen rekommendera den. Jag gillar grejer som håller.

Absolutely brilliant double edged razor. If you were wondering whether to change from cartridge razors to a double edged, then this is the one for you. Perfect for both beginners and experts, this gives a close comfortable shave. The razor is very well manufactured, with a good finish and well balanced. It is perfect in terms of closeness - not too aggressive and yet close enough, and importantly very comfortable. I've tried a few double edged razors, but this is my go-to razor most days. Some aggressive ones are fine with a few days growth, but this is perfect for daily use. There are many benefits of double edged razors over cartridges. They are much cheaper in the long run. They are also better for the skin as the way cartridge razors work is that they grab the hair with one blade which lifts it, and then the next blade cuts it below the surface of the skin - this means the hair has to push up through the skin when growing, which gives rise to irritation and/or spots. Double edged razors cut the top off, and leaves the skin in much better shape. Also, typically you do a maximum of 3 passes, as opposed to a cartridge with 5 blades which is effectively doing 5 passes, if not more. I mean seriously - 5 blades! Why stop there; why not 6 or 7 or more? Getting silly, and double edged razors were good enough for your ancestors, and importantly they work very well. Yes, there is a learning curve, but get on YouTube and watch a couple of the popular videos, and you will be shaving like a pro in a week. It also becomes a pleasurable experience and a great zen way to start the day. Go the whole experience and get yourself a shaving brush and some decent shaving soap. The aficionados will talk about badger or boar brushes, but it doesn't matter too much and I use a synthetic brush, which is easier to take of and lasts practically forever (make sure to rinse properly as leaving soap on it shortens the life). Shaving soaps - go for a soft cream with a nice fragrance (pick a popular one on Amazon), and you can't go too wrong. Again, much better for your skin than the aerosols/cans. Round it off with an alum block. Then you're all set and it will all last you a long time for a small upfront investment. And importantly, you will enjoy the shaving experience and your skin will thank you for it.

Der MÜHLE TRADITIONAL Sicherheitsrasierer hat mich von Anfang an begeistert. Schon beim Auspacken merkt man die hohe Verarbeitungsqualität – alles wirkt edel, robust und sehr gut durchdacht. Der Rasierhobel liegt angenehm schwer in der Hand, was das Rasieren besonders kontrolliert und präzise macht. Ich war anfangs etwas skeptisch, ob ein klassischer Rasierhobel wirklich mit modernen Systemrasierern mithalten kann – aber ich wurde positiv überrascht. Die Rasur ist unglaublich gründlich und gleichzeitig sanft zur Haut. Dank des geschlossenen Kamms eignet sich der Rasierer auch sehr gut für Einsteiger oder für empfindliche Haut. Kein Ziepen, kein Brennen – einfach ein sauberes Ergebnis. Was mir besonders gefällt: Die Rasierklingen lassen sich einfach wechseln, und man spart im Vergleich zu Systemrasierern auf Dauer eine Menge Geld – ganz zu schweigen vom positiven Umweltaspekt.
