Great for training an apartment dog
I have used these to help train my dogs not to bark at every little thing (we live in the country...but we do have neighbors) and they have been great. Our dogs know to bark when someone is coming up our driveway or if there is something unusual (coyotes, horses loose, strangers), but they don't bark at bunnies, raccoons, the plethora of stray cats that we have. So when a friend of mine with a new puppy who lives in an apartment arrived, she needed some assistance training her to behave and not drive the people living around her in her apartments nuts. This works so well and I'm certain her neighbors appreciate it....I know I would have when living in apartments.

Do not consider anything else!
Finally, the perfect bark collar for us!Our dog is a combination of approximately three breeds, so she’s a mutt. But we love her! She’s a medium size dog, with Labrador, blue healer, and border collie mixed in.She doesn’t bark too much generally speaking, but she does like to bark at night if we put her out. So we’ve been trying different kinds of bark collars for years. This one is the keeper.Here’s what I like about it:Uses a standard micro USB cable for charging instead of some stupid proprietary connector that I would end up losing eventually!Very basic and easy to understand, and appears to be working flawlesslyThe battery seems to last foreverAppears to be consistent in its settings, and works as it is supposed to!Everything seems to be high-quality and is holding up very well for us (The pictures are after approximately three weeks of constant use although we don’t leave it on her all day)I want to mention that we just use the vibrate function, because several years ago we utilized a training collar and used the shock function a little bit and it really traumatized her. So even the vibration seems to put her into a bit of a cower and that’s good enough! Additionally, we have left the unit untouched for many, many hours at a stretch and have been fearful it has shut itself off. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, it seems to work and work so we just basically leave it alone. I really appreciate that pushing the power button quickly once tells you the level of the battery and my goodness it seems to last weeks.In summary, this is just excellent. Take some time to read the instruction manual which is pretty straightforward and you’ll get what you need. As I indicated we use the vibration function only, so I have to assume if you have a large dog and plan to use the shock function and keep the settings higher your battery life may not be as good as ours is. Nevertheless, I can’t imagine for anyone with a small to even large dog this couldn’t be an excellent training collar to minimize or stop barking. When our dog has this on her neck, she does not bark at all anymore!

This collar quit working after less than 2 months! Very disappointed! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

Better than others I've tried
I have a very barky rescue and I've been trying to find the right bark collar for him. The first one I set on the lowest settings and put it on him. An hour later, after hearing no barking, I found him writhing in pain on the floor. When I took it off and tested on my my hand I discovered that it triggered for no reason with the shock on high and once it triggered it wouldn't stop. It hurt like hell on my hand, I can only imagine the pain my poor dog was in. I packed it up and sent it back immediately.This one I charged up and tested on myself extensively before I put it on him. I turned the shock all the way to low because the just the beep and the vibration is enough to distract him from his normal nuisance barking. The only issue I have with this one is that it's kind of big. Fine for a larger dog but my doggo is under 10lbs so something about half the size would be much better.One word of advice: Always, always, always check the device on yourself before putting it on your dog. If it's wired the slightest bit improperly it could really hurt your dog.
