They are OK. Probably not the best for chemically sensitive people.
I bought two towel sets. When the towels arrived they had a faint commercial detergent scent, and they felt like fabric softener had been applied to them. They were in clear plastic bags with a barcode (they claim their bags are biodegradable, but these bags seemed like standard issue Amazon plastic - though that's a subjective observation and I didn't scientifically test the material), and one of the bags was sliced open on one side. The lack of company information or care in packaging coupled with the hints of fragranced detergents/fabric softener chemicals made me feel a bit dubious about this purchase.I am chemically sensitive and needed some organic towels on a budget, so I took a chance with these. I previously tried to purchase regular towels from Target, but the chemical smells were so strong (despite their 'oeko-tex 100' certification) that I couldn't even be in the same room as them. So I decided to buy organic, GOTS certified, and these were much cheaper than the alternatives I found online. If the GOTS certification and all the claims are as promised, the towels are what you would expect to get at this price, for organic. They are soft, and seem appropriate for daily use. Some other reviewers mentioned that they shed lint - but to me, they seem to shed less than most towels do these days (far less than the Target towels, at least). They don't appear to be Oeko-Tex certified, which is another important certification to have if you're looking for chemical-free textiles. They should really be Oeko-Tex and GOTS certified if you want the safest option. So, in sum, these seem to be as advertised for the most part, but I would like to know more information about Magnolia's processing -they claim that they use non-toxic dyes and don't add harmful chemicals, but if that is the case I don't know why their products are not oeko-tex certified to back those claims up. The detergent-and-fabric-softener- feel when opened made me suspicious that there may be some chemical processing that is applied despite the material being grown organically. They are better than towels you would buy at Target, but if you're looking for a towel you can really trust I would probably go with a vendor online who is both Oeko-Tex and GOTS certified, and who is transparent about all the materials and chemicals that go into manufacturing their textiles.

Nice organic towels but maybe not a great gift option
I bought a set in the dark gray. I'm really happy it comes with 4 washcloths and not just 2! The dark gray towels are more of a warm gray. I think the picture is pretty accurate color-wise but just an FYI. They seem soft and absorbent, but I literally just got them Sunday and washed them yesterday. LOL. Also, these do appear to genuine GOTS-certified organic towels. I'll update my review if they are anything but awesome.Really the only downside is that I would not give them as a gift due to the basic, non-gift-worthy packaging. They came in a plastic bag marked with nothing other than a UPC. Inside, the towels didn't have any hang tags (just the sewn-in tags). The bag did protect them and I don't have a problem with it other than it's not really giftable.

It's okay
I bought this for my husband because his favorite organic cotton towel that was very similar to this one was stolen in his gym bag. I figured it would be the same but it was not. This towel isn't that soft. It currently is in the washing machine, so I will see if washing it helps soften it any. It also isn't as big as I had expected.

just like you'd expect from thick natural fibers)
These towels are very thick and fluffy (absorbent and not at all fast-drying, just like you'd expect from thick natural fibers). I ordered both the Chocolate and the Dark Grey, and the Chocolate ones had a couple pulled loops within the first two washes. No big deal, but if you're super fancy it might annoy. These are the first higher-priced towels I've bought, I was pleasantly surprised at how large they are!

Good Completely Organic Bath Towel
I really like this towel. It is soft and a nice, natural light beige color, with no bad chemical smell or feel. It is slightly smaller than my old bath towels and I would be happy to buy a larger one made the same way. It's not so much the process of growing cotton that introduces the chemicals (e.g. formaldehyde) that I'm sensitive to, but the addition of those chemicals by other companies into the cotton (even organically grown cotton) during the "finishing" process. So thank you, Magnolia Organics, for manufacturing to GOTS standards so I can be sure what I'm getting.

Pretty good
The second time I washed these I noticed a few threads come loose, not noticeable yet but I'm hoping these last for a long time... the color is good and they did soften up in the wash. Good size and not super thick.

Great basic towels at a great price
These towels aren't fancy but they have a nice weight to them. They are thirsty towels and dry quickly. The chocolate color is a very rich brown, very nice. I have washed them three times already and they have washed very well. I use the towel setting on my washer and dry on low heat. They come out nice. On the down side, they have snagged in a few places but not anything major. I am pleased with my purchase.
