great box!
What a great box! Picked this up after breaking a few better-built brand boxes (Home Depot & lowes) ... If your in the trades, skip the big box store crap & go straight for the weathergaurd. This thing can hold some serious weight & she don't look half bad either. Love it.

Great tool box
Great tool box. There isn't anything about this that I don't like. Going from a cheap aluminium one to this was a night and day difference. Quality of construction makes me feel comfortable leaving expensive tools in it without worrying.

shipping seems to always damage the tool box
love the tool box, we have purchased at least 15-20. They are the best tool boxes for commercial construction. The shipping is terrible. i get 2 out of 5 that are damaged. If this can be figured out, it would be great. don't like not being able to call customer service and speak to someone.

Will Arrive Damaged
If you are looking for a quality tool box that will assuredly show up damaged then this is the box for you. Despite being 6' long and weighing 125+ lbs, it will arrive in nothing more than a cardboard box and delivered by a single FedEx ground driver who can't possibly lift it by himself. The box arrived with scratches and dings all over. The seller, understandably, offered to return it and ship another one but could do nothing about the packaging. Stands to reason the next one will show up damaged as well. Amazon offered to ship one from their warehouse stating it was packaged better but would include sales tax, thus making it more expensive. All in all a terribly disappointing and frustrating process. Great looking box. Unbelievable Weatherguard would make such a nice product and then not bother packaging it sufficiently. As is so often the case, the customer gets shafted. Will certainly never again tout Amazons customer service and return policies.

A solid product, as delivered and installed and used for several months.
LIke many others who have bought the Weatherguard 126-05-02 Truck Saddle Box, I received it in a plain cardboard box that had been mangled by the shippers. Fortunately, the contents were completely undamaged, a miracle. I agree with others that Knaack (the manufacturer) could beef up their packaging a bit.I installed the box on a 1997 F350 longbed. It's a little tricky to install properly since you have to reach over and under the box at the same time, and the slot for installing the rear bolts on each side is a little too close to the rear edge of the box, so that you not only have to use a socket extension to get to the bolt from the top, but the bolt goes in crooked since the mounting plate bumps up against the back of the bed underneath. They could have moved the slot forward about an inch and it would have been much easier. That said, it is possible to get it installed with a little effort, and they do provide a third slot in the middle of each side of the box if you can't manage the rear slots. The keys were zip-tied to the outside of the box. No problems there. The locking mechanism works smoothly; much better than some of R&K boxes I have had in the past. The top opens smoothly and rapidly and closes easily. The box itself is welded with short 3/4" welds along the seams rather than being formed out of one piece or full-seam welded. Not sure if this will prove to be a weak point over time. The box comes with a parts/tool tray which slides from side to side. It has four divider slots but only came with three dividers. There's a lot of slop in the fit between the box and the tray, but they do provide screw holes for attaching it to one position in the box, if the slopping around gets to be annoying. It also comes with a plastic parts box for nuts, screws etc, and a small bottle of touch-up paint. Nice touches, these. Also comes with two plastic mounts for storing a 4' level on the back wall of the box. Again, nice idea, but I somehow doubt the plastic is going to last long under normal use and vibration. We'll see.All in all, I'm happy with the box as delivered. I will be using this in ranch service and I will update this post if any problems occur during what will be pretty rough service.UPDATE - Sept 5th 2016 - After a lot of miles on rough roads carrying a lot of tools and parts in the box, I can say that this box is holding up well. No leaks, the lid still pops open at the touch of a button, and I'm very satisfied with it. There are a couple of things that you might want to be aware of.1) The plastic parts box is a nice idea, but the top is too flimsy to keep small parts in their proper place. Nothing leaks out of the box, but everything inside gets jumbled up. I solved this by using small zip lock bags for the parts in each compartment. Not ideal, but it works.2) You really have to tighten the mounting bolts down HARD. I tightened them down modestly and one side of the box slipped. It may have something to do with the spray on truck bed lining that the box is sitting on. Also, the rubber inserts that are provided with this box are pretty well useless in my situation. They slipped out partially after a hundred miles or so; I'll get rid of them eventually.3) The nuts that hold the lid openers (one on each side) are fastened to a pretty thin steel frame inside the box. One of them jiggled loose and then the other one bent its frame. I'm probably going to beef up the frames with custom made steel plates to prevent further damage.4) I never used the metal parts/tool sliding box. Could not stand the rattling and I didn't want to fix it in one place. I also cut some 3/4" thick rubber matting for the bottom of the box which deadens the noise and protects my tools.

Best Truck Tool Box
The most secure and durable crossbox I have found. This is my second one. I sold the truck with the first one after 11 years and only had to replace one lid support in all that time.

I've had it for a year and been super happy with it
I've had it for a year and been super happy with it. Lots of storage space, locking system works well. I occasionally have to bang on it a bit to pop the seals open but better than than a leak
