Voluptuous Terrors 1: 120 Horror & Science Fiction Film Posters From Italy (The Art of Cinema)
S**S
Nice collection of beautiful art, one for the Italian horror fans
Voluptuous Terrors Volume 1 from G.H. Janus really does tick the box if you're after a collection of prime horror & science fiction posters from 1940-1980. The posters featured were used for the Italian releases of such films during the glory period of Italian cinema, and that includes imported movies as well as homegrown successes. There's a 120 posters in this collection, with most images being 23cm x 16cm in this A4-sized book. Here are just some of the posters featured as known by their English titles..King Kong, Thief of Baghdad, Tobor, Them, Night of the Living Dead, Devils Rain, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Abominable Dr Phibes, Black Sunday, The Mark of the Criminal, Curse of the Werewolf, Horrors of the Black Museum, The Reptile, The Night Caller, Danger Diabolik, Planet of the Vampires, Lady Frankenstein, etcEach image has a small amount of information with it, so the poster title, year, distributor and artist if known. The collection itself appears to be from print-on-demand rather than from a dedicated print run, but is high quality nevertheless and would not look out of place on any high street bookseller's shelves. Recommended.
