You get what you pay for…..
The age old saying right……. Well holding true here too. I worked hvac for several years now starting out in residential and worked my way in to the industrial environments with very large Rtu’s, huge hot roof spaces and very wet cooling towers. Through the years I used to wear $100 timberland hikers. Get about 4-5 months of good waterproofness and maybe 1 year out of the boot if I’m lucky. Working in pretty rough conditions especially for my feet I realized it’s time to get serious and invest a little more in my foot wear for something that will actually last. So after 100 miles logged in these I can safely say they are well worth the investment. The boots felt big and cloggy at first but with time and muscle memory that faded. Out of the box they screamed comfort till the second you take them off. I find myself getting home after a 12 hour plus day on my feet and feeling no foot pain and marginally less back pain. They somehow are light and don’t take a lot of energy to mover surprisingly. Most importantly they are as durable as they come. Consider a safety if you position needs it but they are plenty protective as they are. The steel packed stitch sole will be around way longer than any adhesive backed sole would. Which once the adhesive wear yourwaterproofing is shoot. I’d Recommend this boot for anyone they does any amount of work in less than ideal conditions. And ps order the black sole cause the white ones are gonna turn black eventually anyways! Why cheap out on the tires for your feet?

The best
The best all around boot out there. They stand up to anything, other than a teething Australian shepherd puppy, but outside of that, they were bomb proof, water proof, and exceedingly comfortable

Best sub $200 Moc Toe out there ...
I am fat and have a wide foot and these fit perfect out of the box,, 12EE,, really nice leather and really good quality goodyear welt, for an import they are impressive. My hats off to Redwing for at least giving an old reliable brand a decent build standard. The only recommendation I have is to get a better quality insole to put in place of the Irish Setter brand....

Comfortable but not the same
It was hard letting go of my Redwing boots that I purchased in the 80's, but a torn tongue in the left boot and both heels worn down it was time for new boots. It was difficult to decide on buying this new pair after reading the reviews of how they just weren't the same any more. I would agree with that. No longer the same color; less speed-loops; heavier; less suppleness in the leather; and boot straps sticks out too far. Despite my nostalgic disappointment in the changes that have been made, these boots are all-day comfortable and seem to be stitched together well. Hopefully with some Huberd's and more break-in time the leather will soften up some. When it's time to replace these boots, I doubt I'll have any difficulty letting them go.

Great Boot
I wanted a leather boot for Fall and early Winter here in Northern Arizona. These boots took about 2 days to break in and are very comfortable. We take our dogs into the Kaibab Forest which has some rough terrain. I feel very secure hiking in these boots as they offer great ankle support. I was looking at another brand, went back and forth and finally hit the Amazon buy button on these Irish Setter 807's; sure glad I did. They look good, are well made and comfortable, even my wife made a comment on how well these boots look and how well made they are. I did apply a coat of Mink Oil to increase their water proofing and help protect the leather. It did not change the color at all. Very happy with these boots.

Would never know it is imported.
I am rarely if ever compelled to write reviews. However, this boot deserves it. I needed a pair of field boots for fall hunting and general yard work and my old steel toes were shot. I shopped online for looking at several moc toe and smooth toe boots. I cannot justify $290 for USA Red Wings, or anything USA anymore (except LL Bean Maine boots... still the best made in USA deal out there..), so I accepted the fact that I would be buying something imported. I found a pair of Cabela's hunting boots on sale which I bought, then decided to pull the trigger on these as well. They arrived at the same time so I could do a side by side comparison. Two different animals, the Cabela's was more of a waterproof, winterized boot 9-10' tall, while the Wingshooter are 7", lined but not necessarily for winter. The Cabela boot was ok, but definitely has that "imported" faking it feel... especially in the bottom sole. As soon as I put the Irish Setters on, it was like stepping back in time. Yes, they are imported, but you would never know it. Feels like old USA boots used to feel. Excellent soles... fit was perfect for my wide duck feet (12EE)... and it felt broken in right from the get go. And they look good to. The Cabela's are boxed up and ready to return. I think I will buy another pair of Wingshooter's now just for price guarding, and I NEVER do that. They will get field tested hard next month on a week long backwoods deer hunt in Maine, but everything I have seen so far tells me they will be perfect. So I am back and adding to my original review. Best boots I have ever owned Period. I hunt in them. Work in them. Walk the dog for miles through woods and fields. Love them and the fact that Red Wing will refurbish them when needed just adds to the value.Second update. I just. bought my second pair of these Actually I bought the 808 9" version but sent them back as they were just too high on the shin, and uncomfortable to me. Exchanged for 12EE 7" pair like I had bought 2 years ago. Something was different. They were much tighter than the first pair I bought. I called Red Wing and they did say that the last mold has been changed recently. So I exchanged the 12EE for a 13EE. Perfect fit on width, but a tad long. I am a little disappointed. I am going to keep them, but I will shop around for my next new hunting boot in a couple years. Maybe the LL Bean Kangaroo.

Excellent boots!
These boots are stylish and comfy! By far my favourite boot there is. Only shame is they’re no longer made in the U.S.

A great boot
Great boots. A little narrow in the toe box...wish they still made the “king toe” boot. Boots are comfortable out of the box. Will buy again.

The boots are great and get a solid 4 out of 5 but ...
The boots are great and get a solid 4 out of 5 but lose a star because of the fiasco that I have gone through. First pair was made out of really nice, smooth leather which was a rich red/brown colour; were very comfortable and warm in the winter and I loved everything about them. After about two months, however, the metal rings holding the laces in place were chewing up the laces and they were almost completely severed in several places. Amazon has fantastic customer service which resulted in a second pair shipped out to me in good time while the boots that came were not only made from rough 'cracked' leather but were also a completely different colour: they were a very light tan brown. I was able to get another replacement as I would have not picked out that colour from a shelf in a store. Again, Amazon has very prompt and helpful customer service so I was able to get a third pair sent out to me in good time and send back the replacement pair. The third pair finally arrived and are the correct colour although they are made from smoother leather than the second pair, the leather is still definitely somewhat rough and 'cracked' or used looking while the colour of the boot is spotted in places where most of it is the rich brown/red while some sports are a lighter colour. Even though I wouldn't have picked the third pair off of the shelf in a store I am not going to return this pair as I am just done with the whole fiasco. The boots fit well, are comfortable and warm but not too warm. I love the boots and wish that I could have kept the original pair I got just with better metal holes so that the laces didn't get checked up. I would definitely recommend someone buying these boots while at the same time warn of the potentially varying quality and colour.
