One of our dogs is severely riddled with anxiety. She suffers and we're working on helping her.where we get stuck is during thunderstorms. She hates the Thundershirt. Strong medication backfires on her causing especially awful side effects, like skittishness, vomiting, insomnia, diarrhea, etc. Valium works best of all of the available pharmaceuticals. But everything eventually gives her trouble. In between, I use LICKS ZEN. WITH GREAT SURPRISE THIS PRODUCT WORKS!! I mean, it actually, truly, really works. No after effects. No side effects. She's not zonked. She can hear me and follow commands, like "Lie Down." No upset stomach. She loves the flavor and what more can I say? This is a find!!! I bought it to try it because we are always trying new things and it was at Petsmart, on sale so....I gave it a go. Wow! Wow! Wow!!! Thank you, ZEN!!!!!

My 8 pound yorkie suffers from anxiety during fireworks and thunderstorms. July 4th 2020 and 2021 was a nightmare because the fireworks went beyond the holiday. This year I had to really prep to somehow help my dog get some relief. I found a combination of several tactics helped make this July 4th 2022 pass easier. I used Licks in combination with another calming supplement plus I prepped the environment (living room) by having the A/C running, tv on, and covered my windows and doorways with heavy blankets to buffer any sounds. All this effort paid off. Licks on its own helps a little for thunderstorms and it takes a full packet given at least a half hour before a storm. Giving it to him at the right time is the hard part because he’s finicky and you can’t predict Mother Nature 100%. I’m adding behavior modification which is a work in progress. I will buy again for next year. I just wish it was not as expensive for the amount you get.

I love this product, so I would give it a 5 if it weren't for the box being squished in shipping..that's a shipping AND packaging issue.My dog is terribly afraid of thunder/lighting and fireworks.My neighbor suggested this product, so I tried it. My dog won't eat anything when she's afraid, so I try to give this to her before thunder/lighting or fireworks start. However if I don't time it correctly, I open a package and put it on a flat plate so the smell "calls her". Whenever she feels safe, she eats it.I also have to give prescription drugs to my dog, but that doesn't work on its own (and neither does the Licks). I use both together.Packaging was awful on this shipment though. This product is NOT cheap (too high, I believe) and I would think it would be shipped in a box or something that protects the contents and not get squished to oblivion.

I’ve been using this product for years with my 36lb goldendoodle. I’ve used it on planes, roadtrips, and he has zero side effects. Highly recommend.

I have two packets to my 80 pound dog and it did nothing at all. I was up all night with him trying to comfort him as he was trembling from fireworks.

Our neighborhood fireworks show was moved to the park across the street from our house 2 years ago. Great for us people, terrifying for my dog. The first year he hid, shaking, in a corner in the bathroom. Last year and this year I got Licks Zen. He thinks it's delicious and gobbles it up. I gave it to him about an hour before the festivities began and put on some calming music. He did great - I think he slept through most of the fireworks. If your dog is SUPER scared, you may need a prescription, but this definitely worked for my dog, and I will be buying it every July from now on.
