Quality product and can take on an empty stomach
Paul Stamets and his team make the highest quality products, and the Turkey Tail is no exception. Most supplements I've taken, you are unable to take on an empty stomach otherwise it makes me feel nauseous, well with this one I can take it anytime and not have to worry about eating beforehand.

I like the quality of this product.
My holistic doc recommended that I take 4 caps 2xs a day....unfortunately I probably can't keep reordering, this product is extremely expensive and now I have to hope to find a good quality at a lower price. If you have the money this a great choice.

A standalone supplement or an adjunctive supplement to reduce side effects from other treatments.
The Japanese have been prescribing polysaccharide K for chemo patients for years. Chem suppresses a patient's immune system and polysaccharide K--otherwise known as Turkey Tail Mushroom strengthens a patient's immune system. There is much info about this on the net.

Retrieving the newspaper every day: sun, rain, snow, or whatever!
When my Golden Retriever's spleen ruptured we rushed him to a pet ER service and the veterinarian diagnosed the cause as hemangiosarcoma - a fast moving and deadly blood-borne cancer that attacks the liver, brain, and yes, the spleen - and gave my boy a prognosis of 11 to 90 days to live without chemotherapy and maybe 6 months with chemotherapy. We opted for the extra time with our favorite companion. Several thousands of dollars later and after the last chemo treatment, the vet mentioned a new immune boosting supplement made of the mycelium of the turkey tail (Trametes versicolor) mushroom. Supposedly there was a joint clinical study between China and some USA interest - I don't know the details, honestly. The prices for this product range for the limited budgeted people is from fairly priced to you-gotta-be-freaking-kidding-me expensive - all for the same product! Woody is slightly over 100 pounds - he's a big, athletic boy with no extraneous fat - and the dosage for his size is 4,400 milligrams (9 capsules) of turkey tail mycelium each day. We found the best price and the fastest shipping from Host DefenseĀ® Turkey Tail Capsules, Immune Support, 120 countDoes it work? During this process, I expected my boy to not make it beyond March maybe April of 2015. Hemangiosarcoma is a fast moving and deadly cancer with statistics to prove it. This is December, 2015 and 15 months after his emergency surgery. If there's a middle finger on a dog's paw to extend to this cancer, he's done it! He plays like a Golden, he swims like a Golden, he retrieves a ball and a Frisbee like a Golden is supposed to. He's the epitome of a healthy, active Golden retriever. My wife believes turkey tail works. The vet presented the option clinically and without prejudice. I'm still on the fence but I have no other explanation for why Woody didn't die last spring and why I'm thinking he's going to be with us through the winter and into next spring and maybe beyond. . .I know the research for boosting the immune system for cancer treatment is still controversial and I wish I had more scientific evidence to prove that in this review. All I can say, definitively, is that my best companion is with me at the foot of my desk as I write this, and it's well over a year of his predicted demise. We can't - and won't - stop this immune system treatment. As a final note, please be sure you are purchasing turkey tail "mycelium". This is the 'root' substance of the turkey tail mushroom. There are products out there that are "powdered" turkey tail or "extract" of turkey tail or any other description. For you mushroom experts out there, I'm one of you but give me a break! I'm trying to explain mycelium to an audience who could care less about your nomenclature.
