Q: How does it connect to power?

Plug tip socket. Very straight forward.

Q: Can you record all the time instead of just when motion is detected? I need this to check where a mouse is coming from in my kitchen.

Yes ...it records all the time - alerts you and records any movement, you'll need a micro sd card

Q: Does this work with an ip compatible dvr?

i use mine with qnap nvr, the camera can be setup with login account and suports onvif and rstp both well documented on tapo website.

Q: Does the camera stay running all day or can it be set to turn on when it detects motion?

We leave ours on all day and we get notifications when there is motion
