John Frieda Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Enhancing, DUO set Shampoo + Conditioner, For Darker Blondes, 8.45 Ounce, 1 each

I have purchased this several times on Amazon and this is the first time that I received two different variations of the product and the conditioner has a broken cap- neither bottles were sealed as they usually are. The conditioner seems to have been used with old brown conditioner in the lid. The conditioner also smells differently than it usually does.

I have used this product for years without any issues. I don’t know if the formula has changed or what but this stuff dried my hair out so bad after only using it for less than a week. Two weeks later I am still trying to get my hair back in good condition. Because it is so dry now it won’t curl, I can hardly get the round brush I use through it and when I try to use my brush iron to add a little height at the crown my hair “melts” and sticks together. I will never use this shampoo and conditioner again!! Beware!!!

I will keep the product - however, it was not the version "for darker blondes" shown in the picture. It was the one version available for all blondes. Apparently the differentiated products are no longer available - in spite of the picture.

Harder to find in stores, most carry the lightening shampoo but not the highlight activating, especially for darker blondes. Smells delicious. Shampoo is light enough to not weigh down my waves, but conditioning enough to keep my hair soft and smooth. Perfect balance, plus is keeping my blonde beautiful. I was having trouble with shampoos making my hair brassy lately, and this (in combo with purple shampoo) has brought me back to normal.

This is the only shampoo and conditioner I consistently go back to, especially in the summer when my hair grows dark from the winter time. I religiously recommend this stuff, even to friends with unnatural blonde hair. If I try new shampoo and conditioner that ends up being a flop I know John Frieda is always waiting for me to make my hair feel great for days!
