Love the option to lock door automatically after it shuts. No more forgetting to lock door!!
You can choose how many minutes it will stay unlocked and then locks itself (1min, 5min etc). The instructions were a little confusing for myself (66 years old), but my son figured it out in no time. We use it on the door which goes from our kitchen to the garage. Used to never lock the door as it was inconvenient to search for keys with stuff to bring inside. Sometimes we park our cars in the driveway. If the car is broken into, the garage opener will be an easy entrance to our house. So we feel safer with our new lock.

connects to MyQ
Nice unit and is EZ to use. The only thing I think that needs a little work is to make the Numbers light up you have to hit a Number but if it's NOT the first number in your combo you just started with the wrong number and have to start over. It would be better if they would make it to where if you hit the TOP Logo button they would light up then you can start inputting your combo. Not that big a deal but it could be better.

Quits working within a year
The motor burned out with 6 months. Took 2 months to get a replacement motor from Yale tech support. Fixed it and now an electrical issue that fails to operate the lock with another 6 months and now out of warranty. You should plan to replace this lock every year.

Unreliable. Please don’t buy this
I was emailed a coupon for one of these before the holidays and was able to use it until late January before it became unusable. This liftmaster has one problem with the physical profile, that it is a bit too tall (non standard height) and so it can interfere with the deadbolt above it on a standard door (I had to put the deadbolt on the bottom and this liftmaster on the top to be able to use it). These MyQ embedded devices have a tendency to be difficult to consistently control from the app, and although I had difficulty with a Raynor Aviator, eventually stabilized.Yesterday none of the pins were being recognized, there was often a delayed confirmation beep after pushing each button, and unlocking it from the MyQ app wouldn’t actually turn the lock anymore. I tried unsuccessfully to remove and add the device through MyQ several times, and a factory reset failed as well.Typically when I’ve had problems setting up through MyQ (ie, a Raynor Aviator garage door opener) you get kicked over to an in-app support feature. Since Amazon’s community guidelines now rejects reviews which focus on customer support, shipping, etc, I can’t describe that experience to you. Will let you discover that for yourself.Bottom line: this model has a physical flaw that’ll make it hard for you to put it on a door with a deadbolt, and it doesn’t behave like the rock solid embedded systems of yesteryear which always “just worked”, rather it behaves like sloppily rushed to market web tech that occasionally pushes poorly tested updates. So one day it works, the next it doesn’t; do you really want that kind of experience in a device securing your home?

Will not lock after 17 months
This lock worked well after installation. It worked well with my lift master garage door opener, and handled Amazon key deliveries well. We loved the convenience…. Until it didn’t work. It started giving an error chime when trying to lock or unlock the door, either by the keypad or through the app.I called Yale, and they worked with me to diagnose the problem. They said it was the motor that turns the lock. Then they told me the warranty for electronics was only 12 months. The lock had been installed 17 months prior, and they would not budge on covering it.The motor cannot be replaced. There is no key cylinder for the lock. So that means the only way to lock the door is using the thumb knob on the inside. Then you can’t unlock it from the outside. That means it doesn’t work with key deliveries. So, beware - if the motor breaks, the lock is worthless. I highly recommend not spending that much on this lock, as it completely depends on the electronics and cannot be repaired when they go out.
