My book came in good condition and the writing is beautiful, however the box that the book came in was ripped, so there could’ve been damage, even though I was lucky this time

For the first time ever I realised this is the type of poetry I like!! It’s simple to understand but so profound.. u just gotta read to to understand

A delightful tragedy that reads easily. The metaphors are mostly obvious with plenty of footnotes to aid those less clear. Lots of interesting narrative with recurring motifs that don't become repetitive.I was a little surprised why Layli dies. She has survived a loveless marriage she didn't wish and is a mere two years away from having Majnun, yet she gives up! Of course they were feted not to be together, but perhaps I expected her to be arrange-married again leading to a belief of never being with Majnun.
