Good learning book
It came to me new. I ordered this book cuz I was recommended to buy it for my Korean class. It did help me with learning the basic letters and vocabulary. Although my Korean teacher was there to help us understand the language more and how to pronounce the letters and everything.

A workbook for learning Hangeul characters
I’ve been trying to learn Korean using Duolingo, but I’m struggling to pick up grammar and usage. At this point, a few months in, I can read and create Duolingo sentences but I can’t speak even the most basic sentence of my own. So I thought a good next step might be to add in a basic Korean-language workbook. I still think that’s a good plan, except this shouldn’t have been the workbook I chose. Somehow I didn’t realize that this volume is almost entirely for learning Hangeul characters. There are a couple of other pages for things like numbers, but it’s 95% a workbook for characters. Which is probably great if that’s what you’re looking for! But it didn’t work for me because teaching Hangeul is actually the one thing that Duolingo already did well. I needed a different kind of book.

But it!
I love this book. I especially love the quizzes. It really is the same as a regular English language book, learning to read and write your alphabets for the first time.

Best book I've found so far for learning Hangul
This is the best book I've found for learning Hangul so far. I like the explanations of the pronunciation changes as well as the different styles of writing each letter. There were a couple of typos and things that confused me, but this is a first edition and mistakes happen. I still think it deserves five stars and I hope Jennie Lee writes more Korean books, especially for grammar!p. 23 romanization for achim is wrongp. 25 romanization for keopi is wrongp. 27 final sound for ㅊ should be t not ch (repeated in flashcard at end of book)p. 29 romanization for sigdang is wrongp. 51 diphthong misspelled a few timesp. 53 second word does not include ㅒ but rather ㅐp. 59 syllables at bottom show romanization including w, but syllable charts on p. 125 do notp. 62 chair includes subject marker -gap. 78 gyeobbatchim 겹받침 spelled wrong in Hangulp. 79 throughout the final consonants section, sample words don't include romanization like the other sectionsp. 102 light gray color for table rows makes it hard to read romanization

Super helpful
I got this book as a suggestion from someone using Rosetta Stone that learning Hangul first is encouraged. This workbook with flash cards and writing practices made a world of difference reading Korean.

Only for the alphabet
I didn't know that it's only for learning how to read and write the alphabet. The good think is that you have pre-cut cards for every letters. There are few explanations to understand how to form the syllable. And it's a mostly a notebook to train to write. And that's pretty much it.
