This was hard to rate. I thought the etchings were black, they're not
Construction is great, and it is a precision combo square for it's graduations. I just thought the etchings were black. Working in the sun makes it difficult to read...or, better stated, no easier to read than any other combo square. I'd love to see a matte black rule with etchings.

Accurate and easy to read.
This is a very accurate and easy to read square. I compared the measurements to a Mitutoyo ruler that I know is accurate to the JIS and its spot on.It glides smoothly when adjusting and the hardened scribe works very well. This was inexpensive and its made in the USA. I would highly recommend this product.

Well made and sturdy.
Well made and sturdy. Numbers and markings are cut into the metal and painted black. Easy to read. Easy to adjust. More expensive than most of the competition but you get what you pay for.

Stainless rule won’t rust
Used for measuring 45 degree angles for miter cuts. Also for cutting measuring cuts for floor boards. Stainless steel rule won’t rust.

Good enough accuracy for the work I do. Time will tell if the Stainless is any good.

Track guide snapped - Tool is now useless.
The track guide that allows the ruler to track/slide through the "square" snapped off. Therefore the thumb knob cannot engage and clamp onto the ruler and the entire tool is worthless. Poor metal composition in the track guide resulted in complete loss of tool. No references to purchasing a new track guide. I cannot recommend this to anyone due to the manufacturer's poor choice in metals/workmanship.

The product is as described, arrived on time, However if the user is not careful in setting the unit, it does not always lock perpendicular.

The edge of the ruler is where the measurements begin, unlike many other rulers that start their ticks about 1/8" or 3mm from the edge
