The Smiths - DVD Collector's Box
Product ID: 2924068
A grey shadow was cast across the British landscape during the 1980s, as the political elite sought to condemn a nation from within. In 1982 however, salvation came from young Manchester band The Smiths, and a song writing partnership that would go on to rival the finest. Their career was tragically short-lived, and just four albums later, in 1987, they acrimoniously split. Their legacy was already assured however, and to this day they remain one of the most iconic groups of all time. The Smiths - DVD Collector's Box is the ultimate visual celebration of this most glorious of bands.

I love the Smiths as much as anyone
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! This is another cheese, jerk off, bootlegging under reviews. The band in no way endorsed this, so you're giving your money to the thief who made this box. All it is: is the Smiths under review and the queen is dead under review. No other footage.I love the Smiths as much as anyone! However, do yourself a favor and just buy the smiths under review and the queen is dead under review. You will save money, this cardboard box, not support a bootlegger, and maybe Mike and Andy will get some of the money. I'm sure Morrissey and Marr are doing o.k. financially. Not to say that Mike and Andy aren't but they deserve more credit. I know Morrissey and Marr wrote the songs, but this is one of the most underrated and underappreciated rhythm sections ever.

Interesting insights
Not sure it matters that none of the original members of the Smiths feature - may even be better to have the outsiders' more detached view. Insights into the approach to writing and recording the songs were very interesting to me, especially the very clear separation between Morrissey as lyricist/vocalist and Johnny Marr as musician/producer with tapes of ideas being shuttled back and forth etc. Having listened to a lot of Morrissey's solo work recently, even clearer what a massive contribution Marr made to the Smiths.
