The switch looks just like the original. However there is one internal difference. The internal camshaft opens and closes contacts for the internal, inner and outer burner rings. However the replacement only operates the internal and the inner rings. You can either disassemble the original and use it’s camshaft or connect the inner and outer burner rings together at the burner with a jumper. Otherwise it works fine. P.S. if your stove came with the 3 burner in one option, the knob in the 6:00pm position is low. Higher is Near the 1:00pm position.

Our GE glass cook top stove is over 15 yrs old and still working perfectly- until the large rapid boil burner started heating to high boil every single time. We stopped using that burner and started finding out what could be done about it - the rest of the stove and oven were still fully functional. A service call would be expensive, a new stove unnecessary just because a main burner didn't work.My husband unplugged the stove and removed the back panel to exposed the burner controls from the back. We took a picture of the.main burner control and I went to the GE website. Once I found the model and serial #s (left side inside bottom drawer for this older model) the GE website had this unit available for $89.97.I noted the part # and found it on Amazon for 1/2 the cost! I ordered it and it arrived one day later. Unplugged the stove, removed the back panel and took a picture of the unit configuration. Removed the old one, attached the replacement. Plugged in the wires exactly as they were before (truly plug in to attach!) and reattached the back panel. Plugged in the stove and turned on the Rapid Boil burner. SUCCESS!Saved a lot of $$$ not having to hire service person or buy new stove. Well worth it!!

The stem on a switch broke off on our kitchen range. I thought this meant a service call, and $400 down the drain. Instead, instructions on how to replace the switch are easily found on the internet, and it wasn't that complicated (unplug the stove, or turn of the circuit breaker first). I ordered the replacement switch on Amazon, arrived in 2 days, and and the knob and burner work perfectly. Kitchen range fixed, all very easy. Don't be intimidated by what looks like a technical and complex job --- it isn't.
