Great idea to allow you to use flat shoes on clipless pedals. The only downside is because my pedals have very good bearings in them, these plates hang upside down. This is caused by the centre of weight being way above the pedal axle centre. I have developed a technique of flipping the pedal flatform over by back heeling it.

The idea of this item is very clever but in practice it isn't that simple. The curved nature of spd-sl cleats is incompatible with this flat pedal making the installation process painful also the weight of the clip on pedal makes the default position of the spd-sl upside down making these very hard to ride with in towns and cities where you stop often. I found myself pedaling on the underside of the Shimano pedal after a few miles because they are so hard to turn over on the move.Good idea, bad execution.
