Fits GREENWORKS 60V equipment.
I own a Greenworks 60 volt string trimmer. Greenworks, in their infinite wisdom, decided that making spare parts is for suckers. This head looked close enough, so I ordered one. Good news, the plastic is the same model number, likely out of the same factory. Fits perfectly! The only step that was needed was the bolt, which is a different thread on Makita than Greenworks, but swapping the bolt out took 30 seconds. Bring a hammer.

It works
works better than the original one that came with the trimmer.

Heavier than original but good
A bit heavier than the stock head that I had, but I do think that the bump to extend the line works better than the OG. I have the 2 battery setup with the two speeds. Even with the extra weight, I rarely use the faster setting to edge/trim even still.

SO MUCH EASIER TO LOAD
I bought my Makita string trimmer a year or two ago, and was plagued by the string jamming and felt like I was constantly tinkering with the head. Half the time, the string wouldn't feed out when I tapped it mid-use, and that is because the string was jammed on the inside. Once I replaced the head with this unit, all of those problems went away. No more jamming, easy refreshing, and simple to reload.I did have a little trouble locating it from a reliable seller. I tried buying it directly from a hardware store in the midwest that I found online, only to be informed that they were out of stock and weren't expected to be getting more this season (after a month of waiting). Also, unlike other third-party manufacturers who make replacement heads, this one doesn't add any additional noise while spinning compared to the default one.I hope Makita is smart and is using this redesigned head on all of its new string trimmers.

A new line will not feed through the holes, and it is very difficult to wind
This trimmer head came with the Makita 36V trimmer I purchased. After a short period of use, a new line will not feed through the holes, and it is very difficult to wind.I purchased a new bump and feed head, thinking there might be an upgrade to the design. However when I took them apart they appeared to be identical in every way.But the old head still did not work and the new one did.Upon closer inspection and a lot of time, I discovered the cause of the problem. The bump feed knob can be placed on the string spool in two directions which are 180 degrees from each other! To prevent the spool from being placed in the wrong direction, there is a very very tiny plastic pin (1/8" long x 1/16" diameter) that protrudes up from the spool on one side. The knob can still be installed on the spool in the wrong direction, but it will be slightly crooked. This will cause the problems that I had: a new string will not start through the holes, and it will be difficult to wind.On my old head, this pin was broken off. Probably from bumping the knob to feed the line during use. So when I took it apart to diagnose the problem, everything looked normal. It was only when I compared it to the new head that I eventually discovered the problem. That teeny tiny little pin!!This is a design flaw that I hope Makita changes. All my other Makita products excellent 5 stars!

Perfect Fit!
Could not locate any available to purchase Kobalt 80V String Trimmer Head, manufacturer told me can only now to be purchased from Lowes. Always out of stock. Found an online review that stated it would fit my exact model (Kobalt model KST 140XB-06 , now listed as Lowes Model # 2908003, Item #1315033, purchased March 2016). Read you might have to replace the top nut/screw but worked for them. Worked perfectly for me and didn't have to replace the top nut/screw with another. Hoping this helps others trying to find a match.

Spin backwards
Spun the wrong way and immediately slung the head off. I don't know why, but taking the battery off and reinstalling fixed the problem. Mystery.
