I have been updating my home to have some basic smart functionality. A doorbell, some lights and plugs etc. We have two doors in the home that only get opened a handful of times a year (unless I’m working on a project or something) one is a 2nd floor exterior egress - the other is a basement man door to the alleyway where the garbage and recycling are. The exterior egress is also in my son’s room. He’s 6 now and he’ll be a teenager before I know it - and in both age ranges this device will be highly useful for that door!Because the doors rarely open the text alerts work great - the third door I only set up alerts for if it was open longer than 5 minutes.These chimes are not only highly customizable, they are well made, and can even alert my google home just like my doorbell does. So there are multiple routes you can pick from to be alerted.As far as tech purchases go these guys are small but powerful tools, ones I’m glad to have added to my homes safety net.

I have this set up on my garage door to help catch the times that it's left open or doesn't close all the way.The good:* Product seems well-built* Companion app works well* Alert customization is flexible (multiple time controls/stages of alerts)* Customer support has been very helpful and responsiveThe bad:* Had a few hiccups with setup (serial number registration didn't work and text notifications didn't work at first)* Updating the configuration is annoying (you have to update in the app, then move the device and press a button which is cumbersome on the garage door)* Text message notifications can only go to one number* Set of alerting mechanisms is small (would be really nice to have in-app notifications and email)The overview:This product helps fill a gap in the market for delayed notifications of door/window states. Hopefully this product continues to mature and gets more features. For now, it gets the job done just fine!

Product build is sound and not flimsy like other cheap types.Lot of technology is built in the hardware and software controls which makes this very flexible in use.It has few quirks in tying up and updating with home network . However, the tech support is over the moon which removes any issues.Tech support is prompt and very helpful in guiding step by step procedure. Really appreciate their support.Once working the system performs flawlessly.I have mounted on the freezer in the garage and it has given me peace of mind as I have had issues with the door not fully closed. It sends reliable text information to my iPhone when it alarms.I have used only the text feature.I am extremely happy with the product, its reliability, build quality and performance. But tech support takes the cake. Well done!I will add another one in the future for the refrigerator in the garage and will buy this unit again without any hesitation.

I was unable to connect it to my internet server. Therefore, I never had the opportunity to use it.

UPDATE: My doorsound stopped working so I got onto the chat helpline thinking that on a weekend I wouldn't get any help. Much to my delight I got a customer service person who was determined to solve my problem. They did! And I am one happy customer.This product was relatively easy to set up on my freezer door. Getting my wifi to connect to the doorsound base took a little time (not the product's fault). Once I loaded the app on my phone, the set up process was outlined very nicely. During the process, the base and magnet were too far apart for a time and I got an alert on my phone. So I know that feature works. I wish this product had been around 20 years ago when my father had Alzheimer's and we feared he'd slip out of the house without anyone noticing. I can see so many potential uses for this device.

Didn’t see that it will only send 30 texts to your phone. Stupid since texts don’t cost anything anymore.
