I use this for connecting my Garmin RTL (rear tail light/radar) device to my bike. So this is connected at the base of the seatpost. The RTL "clicks" into place and stays there. I don't feel like it's going to fall off. Quite a solid connection. Would recommend.

I bought this for my new Garmin tail light. The light did come with an OOTB mount but I wanted something a bit more robust. I'm pleased with this purchase. It was fairly easy to install... I guess we'll see if it stays on the post. I did struggle a bit installing it.

This part is far superior to the bone headed "rubber band" Garmin supplied with my Varia rear facing Infrared Radar.I am now ordering a second unit so that switching between my Catrike 700 and E-assisted Catrike Dumont will take seconds and be vastly superior, in terms of reliability, to the failure prone rubber band Garmin supplied with the device.I do not like riding without my Varia, as I ride on rural county roads, state highways, and US Highways ( not interstates ).The Varia notifies me of overtaking traffic at least 30 seconds before 70 mph traffic is "on me". It is great, but having had the bone headed rubber bands break, twice, out on the road, I had to find a reliable solution.

Moving the original mount from one bike to the other was getting old and even though it took minimal effort, somehow the act of remembering, undoing it, and then reinstalling it each time became a pain. That's what led me to this item. I installed it on my gravel bike and once on, it hasn't come off and hold the Varia radar securely, even through bumpy gravel rides. It's been great so far and am considering getting another for my road bike. The only thing that took a bit of effort was that none of the rubber pieces that account for different seat post diameters fit my post very well. They resulted in too loose of a fit or too much that the clamp wouldn't tighten. I ended up shaving one down to right thickness to get it to fit properly. Other than that, it's been flawless. So, pay attention to the diameters these rubber pieces state they're good for, otherwise, you may have to do what i did as well.

The mount that came with the Garmin tail light/radar points the unit down a bit (based on angle of the seat tube), I would rather it be parallel to the road, so car drivers will get a better view of the flashing light and alert them to my presence. This unit corrects that, and allows me to position the unit lower, so I can keep my seat mounted tool bag. I also feel it is more secure then the Garmin mount.
