This is a great little latch that works from both sides. You only have to drill the one hole for the turn bolt, then screw it in each side and attach the catch plate. Smooth, solid action and good-looking, too. The two supplied turn bolts weren't the right length for my gate, so I had to saw off the end of the longer one to make it fit. Easy. The only drawback to this latch is you can't lock it, but I don't need that feature.

Quality latch - functions very well, good value for money and easy installation

Really nice hardware. Seems very sturdy. I purchased two of them. The only issue is that the gate latch is designed for right handed gates. So if the gate is left handed the latch handle will need to be installed upside down so you have to pull up on the handle to open the gate. The right handed handle works by pushing down as expected. The other issue is that the spindles provided are not long enough for 4x4 post. My gate sits next to a 4x4 post with another 5/8" siding. The spindles are not long enough. You have to order longer hex spindles which Amazon does sell. I bought 12" spindles from Feelers (304 Stainless Steel Hex Rod Bar S8 Opposite Side 5/16" Hexagonal Rod, 250mm Length). These match the handle 5/16" knob perfectly. I cut them down with about 3/4" sticking out of the gate and then screwed the other handle on. I think the overall effect is very good. Handle works great and has a built in spring so the handle always snaps back to horizontal. My gates open and close very nicely and the handle looks more like a modern door knob than a gate latch. I would give 5 stars if they offered a left handed knob in addition to a right handed knob. But I would definitely buy these again for other gates. Much better than anything I could find at big box.

I bought a GL01. It is nicely made and attractive. I have found very few modern-design gate latches, and this is the only one that I could find with a handle, rather than a ring or thumb latch. The description says that it's made of Aluminum, and the handle and rosette are aluminum, but the latch bar and strike are steel. The paint on these parts was chipped when mine arrived, but some rust on such a piece is inevitable.The description does say that this is right-hand inswing only, and that is correct. I thought that I might be able to disassemble it and then re-assemble it backwards, but the casting of the baseplate is such that this is impossible. So we will have to hinge our new gate on the opposite side to what we had intended. A couple of other reviewers said that they had mounted it upside down so that the latch could be on the left, but I don't think that this is an acceptable solution.Not yet mounted on the gate, so can't speak to ease of installation or durability.

Works exactly as designed and installs very easily. Instructions for handle and latch placement take all the guesswork out of the simple install. Works perfectly.My only complaint was not knowing ahead of time the ideal mounting for the handles is into a 2” thick board. I needed to mount mine to the 1x6 fence board and it didn’t hold well until I reinforced it with an additional 3/4” piece of plywood.The company reached out unsolicited after the sale and offered a longer hex bolt (which installs between both handles so they turn in sync) in case the one they shipped wasn’t long enough. Good customer service.

I installed this unit and within one week chips in the enamel paint appeared in rust begin to cover entire unit. On top of that the latch itself is made of such weak aluminum that it bent immediately. You get what you pay for.
